Re: Which Remap

Yes more fuel, but surely the map will request more boost, so smoke should be similar to standard. Which it has been on my last two mapped pd's. yes that is right, but also depends on how the car has been looked after.and how clogged up inlet and egr is.your allways going to get slightly more smoke ...

Re: Which Remap

whoever you choose for remap on your tdi, will definately make more black smoke as with remap you are asking for more fuel. some say i want more black smoke as it = power.have a mate with a seat leon tdi which is black with soot again half hours driving after a wash, but boy this car moves and he woul...

Re: tuning my afn

yes will deffo make for a very smoky car,

if you were to ever open up a tuning box its just a resistor that plugs in to your fuel rail and fools the ecu in to thinking the engine is running at a colder temprature, and therefore adding more fuel = more smoke

Re: Vagcom and remap

hello remap on your b6 170 tdi 2.0 passat will make a huge diffrence with a 30 to 40bhp increase, the problem with the 170 tdis is the dpf.issues with dpf are common in standard form an not just with remap, but as you are putting more fuel in to the system with remap then it can cause dpf issues to ap...

Re: error code 17965 a little help please :)

save yourself some money, dont think this is anything to do with sensors, see this fault code all the time, and 99% of the time is down to vnt on turbo clogging up with the soot particles. dont let this worry you as not allways means the turbo has shot it,9 times out of ten it just needs removing from ...

Re: Anyone chipped a 105bhp tdi?

Just wondering if anyone had chipped the 105bhp tdi 2005-2007 models? Considering one as the engines are arguably more reliable but am seriously worried about the lack of power... Anyone? Hello Remap on your 105 bhp tdi will take you to around 140/145 bhp with 60lbft more power on the torque...

Re: 1.8t Rattle

If the oil is running low then it could be the oil pump,if its being starved of oil and running dry it will rattle.nothing to do with the oil but the awt engine has a hydraulic cam belt tensioner these are common for failure as just replaced the 1 on mine.

Re: changing oil pump on a 1.8t..what else to swap

Well as it sounds like a subframe off job to fit the pump? I am going to try and use some flush oil and fit the larger turbo oil filter with top spec oil and see if that improves things If that doesn't work then when I fit new suspension I may as well do it all together and drop the whole front end...

the dealers will tell you to replace the dual mass fly wheel as a matter of course, these are actually not as bad as made out and at the kind of mileage you have done i would doubt the flywheel should need replacing.

could be sticky vanes on the turbo itself,a common problem on todays tdi engines seen this so many times on the mk4 tdi,s,innotec turbo cleaner can usually sort this problem.have you done a fault check see what codes it throws up.
