Re: £180 Bargain bin B5.5 estate PD130!
Sorted, was very lucky and popped the other 3 old plug bCk in a she still runs! Luckily although plug 1 is snapped and centre is spinning it still seems to hold compression (possibly not as well as before!) but runs all the same. Gonna just run her till she expires! She's a Good old tank! Here's the...

Re: £180 Bargain bin B5.5 estate PD130!
Yeah, due to the inner spinning and the outer threaded section not moving it looks like head off Job. Mate has already said not much change out of £700 and that's mates rates. Gonna put all plugs in in the morning and see if it holds any compression on the cylinder with snapped glow plug. If I'm luc...

So got a new rear wiper motor and drivers door lock module to fit (no warning beep for lights, and car locks itself even with door open) gonna re-solder the old one (if that's the issue) and keep it for a spare.

Re: £180 Bargain bin B5.5 estate PD130!
That's good to know. Used to have a mk4 golf estate PD115 (6 speed) and could get nearer 60 mpg on a run, but it was a lighter car than the Passat. Tried towing my new coffee trailer yesterday and towed really well https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170227/beed7cefd61fa1f5aa7a8cbbe73f5055.jpg https:...

Re: £180 Bargain bin B5.5 estate PD130!
Same caliper , same pads , different 312mm caliper carrier to accept 312mm discs . Sounds like a good conversion. Will have to look into that as at some point will be doing the fronts. Also is 435 miles ok from a tank (down to the light coming on) while doing 99% really short journeys around town? ...

Fair doos , the black rubber 2.5 TDI V6 should of been oem aswell as 312mm front brakes also from the 2.5 . As suspension goes , and engine mounts , I've no idea why a piece of sponge was used . Yeah gonna see how this white one holds out and maybe swap a black rubber one in when I get cam belt don...

So long story, didn't win the alloys (well did but guy had sold them!), so got 2x new Dunlop sportBluResponse thingy tyres fitted this morning, and stripped the front end off to fit the new snub mount bush. Looked really bad but actually wasn't too difficult https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170218...

Re: £180 Bargain bin B5.5 estate PD130!
So couple of things I've noticed now the Passats on the road
1- I can't hear the fuel pump prime when you open drivers door? Is this only on petrol models?
2- there's no beep when you leave lights on and open door?
Guessing the 2 could be related, door module micro switch thingy me jiggly?

My sponge mount was in good condition but I also changed to the V6 rubber version. Make sure you have some lube as that thing is as tight as a diamond in a goats-arse :hyst Ah yeah better get lubed up! Lol! Does the rubber version make it any noisier? Guessing it's like uprating any mount, as it's ...

Cheers guys. Yeah I'm gonna give them a soak with penetrating fluid (oooh er missus!), and then pop one out to check. Hope this may solve my starting issues
