Re: 2 new wings for the paint shop

Had a couple of wings done for my b5.5 recently, cost me £250 or £300 can't remember which. But that was the going rate around my area. The paint match is almost perfect and it was a good job, he also undersealed the back of the wings too.

Re: 2.5 v6 tdi 150.

My dad had a b5 a4 with the 2.5 tdi when they were fairly new. It went well and sounded incredible good for a diesel, I remember him doing the timing belt which was a pain in the bum. I also believe fuel pumps are an issue and rather expensive Though an awx with a remap would probably walk all over ...

Re: Rage Against The Machines! SPACE TO VENT HERE

People at Petrol stations. While out I needed to get some diesel, no surprise the place is packed. I pulled up behind a focus, great not putting fuel in they must be paying. 5 minutes go past, I'm starting to think wtf is this throbber doing only for him to get out of the car put his phone away and ...

I had the same problem, it used to drive me crazy. I tried bits of foam, rubber, pipe lagging and various other things, In the end I just binned it.

Re: My TDI 130 Highline

I've just fitted the upper arms in the drivers side, again not a terrible job but would have been easier if I didn't have to take the sodding strut off ~x( So here we go, all the nuts and bolts given a good soaking in wd40. https://i.imgur.com/0oAyPMW.jpg Everything came undone easily, but were back...

Re: My TDI 130 Highline

Fitted the new arm this morning. The long bolt was a bit if a pain but apart from that it was fairly easy and only tool an hour and a half. Anyway the bolt, why they put it that way round I will never know. Having to drop the sub frame down in that corner is bloody daft. So out came the angle grinde...

I noticed the bush was completely shot on the arm fitted while fitting the new drive shaft, that probably explains the knocking noise too. Anyway hopefully the weather stays nice this weekend.

Yeah but if it's the one in the picture it's only a few quid from Lidl, I nearly bought one but there's nothing wrong with the 4amp slowmo charger I've already got.

Why don't you cut the crocodile clip off the negative add a male / female connector to the ends then you can swap between a crocodile clip and ring terminal.

I bought a cheapo Lidl media blaster last time in went in, I thought for £12 it was worth a go. https://i.imgur.com/xUS2dXc.jpg Filled it up with the supplied aluminium oxide and tested it on my hand like you do not expecting much #-O so after washing all the stuff out of my hand I put some gloves o...

The new battery arrived yesterday. IMG_03032018_132938.jpg Getting the old battery out wasn't as bad as I was expecting with things I'd read on here. I unclipped the wiring harness incased in the foam surrounding from the bulk head and the battery came out no fuss. https://i.imgur.com/LUaYLUi.jpg ht...

Re: BMWs stuck in snow, how many did you see?

Tell me about it, was out in the 924 yesterday stuck behind someone in a freelander driving at 10 mph on a perfectly clear and well gritted albeit damp road. You seem to get two groups, the overly cautious and the ignorant that drive as though it's a warm summer say. I feel that alot of people have ...

Strange, it still has its original varta 72ah 380a battery with the vw part number on it and when searched it comes back as a 096.

Battery question

The battery on the passat is on its last legs and really struggling in the cold so I'm getting a new one today. My only issue is I diy remapped it and I was wondering when I disconnect the old battery will the ecu revert back to the original map? I'm sure when uploading the new map it deleted the or...

Didn't see any stuck beemers but the guy in the 4x4 yeti stuck on the back roads didn't look to impressed as I drove past in the 924.
