Hi Gazwould Hope your Christmas break/holiday is going well. The last response in this link (https://www.ukpassats.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=78430&p=776164&hilit=oil+specification#p776164) seems to be 2021, so that I am clear - The Mannol Oil indicated in the E-Bay link (https://ww...

Re: Fuel

Gen'lmen I have been using the 'Gaz-mix' for about 3months now and, today the Bruva from Anova (Yeti) seemed to do upto 5mpg more on a steady 15mile run... So, 45-50, now 50+. Recent MOT on same (Yeti) indicated 0.001%? for emissions.........so very lean? - will Ober-Fuhrer Carne allow me to drive i...

Rear Reading Lights

Hi Looking at the above, between the 2 round 'Reading-Lights' there is a frosted panel (all part of the fitment) that seems to have a hole in it but no bulb..........leastways not that I can see compared to the R-L. Nothing in the Owners manual regarding this - a friend when changing his (Golf) R-L ...

Re: Fuel

Good afternoon Gen'lmen, Looking through the data sheet from Hydra International - there are 2 options for dosage - 1:500 & 1:1000. The 'Gazwould blend' seems to be the 1:500 - just wondering which one I should use for a Panzer & with a dpf thingy? I dont want to open up another problematic ...

Re: Fuel

Gentlemen

Thank you for the additional information and validation - I have saved the 'Gaz-Blend' formula and will make up soon as the EHN-902 lands.

Presumably still works for DPF equipped B7 Panzers?

Hi Gazwould

Ah so, noted.
I also use the 2-stroke additive and have been doing so on both VW stable vehicles for some time!

Is the 2-EHN in addition to the 2-stroke?

Fuel

Hi I usually use fuel from Asda, but last few (3?) fill-ups, 20l, it has been from Tesco. Have noticed that the DPF/Regen seems to have been far more frequent than I recall from when using Asda fuel. My use of the Asda fuel (last 10yrs) has been based on a good friend (RIP) doing research at Oxford ...

Hi Ray112

Thank you for confirming - I will acquire some and try it at next oil/filter change.

Cant see a particular engine - in this case VW - being able to 'tell' its a different oil.......

Re: Cheap 505.01 oil

Hiya

I am also seeking views/thoughts on a Mannol 504/507 oil (Post titled Lube) as here - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mannol-5w-30-F ... B0776CW671

Higher spec and meets VW requirements apparently......

Hi

My light comes on due to a connection under the passenger seat getting' bumped' on road-craters and setting the light off........gentle touch and reset is good for many months.........so I am advised.

Re: Timing belt kits and water pumps to avoid

Gen'lmen

To wrap up - Gates kit fitted few weeks ago. Interestingly there is a re-design of the tensioner by Gates and there (should be but wasn't in my case) a data sheet in the box. U-Tube clip from Gates advises. Seems to tension up opposite to the VW ones......

Re: Timing belt kits and water pumps to avoid

Hi

It is getting to that time again, when timing belt and water pump must be changed.

From recollection it was a Gates kit last time, cant remember the water pump.

So, what are the current recommendations for these and where to source currently for a fair price please?

What is the wisdom and concensus of replacing the air in tyres to nitrogen?

How many have done so, how found stuck with or gone back?

VW Connect OBD

Hi all

Couple or 3 years ago VW had plug-in OBD thngy, first few customers free but thereafter 30£ if I recall............just found mine!

Anyone have one and used it with the app for whatever it does or is it a stitch-up for VW use only?

Cheers

Re: 1.6 TDi problem

Hiya

As tab2188 I also have the 140 2.0 and again find on colder/frosty mornings it does seem to tickover higher than the 800? from srtartup for awhile, then settles.......

Somewhat like an 'auto-choke' on older petrol engines.
