Re: Which tyre dressing ?

I’ve just started using the adam’s polishes range which is imported by prestige car care, after scrubbing the tyres with there tyre and rubber cleaner I was amazed how much better they looked then just finished it off with VTR which gives a nice look to the tyre,

Mine does this too, I’ve just had a top end rebuild on mine (cambelt came off) so everything has been checked and even after the rebuild it still does it.

Re: Help with fault codes please

It's probably dirty as the hole in the engine into the dry bell housing of the gearbox is open to the elements. I have previously cured a "faulty" G28 crank sensor on a Golf tdi with some brake cleaner and a long straw cap fitted - turns out it was dirty and not reading the phase ring pro...

Re: Help with fault codes please

So it’s back up and running temporarily although I’ve been told not to go to far in it, it will be going back to the garage on Wednesday hopefully. Any way with regards to the codes it would appear my code reader has been lying to me :(( The AA man only found two codes one of which being the handbra...

Re: Help with fault codes please

My old Land Rover used to suffer similar problems with the injector harness which is what gave me the idea. I’ve still been using the car as I have no other way to get to work, and I’ve noticed that everything is fine unless I go above 2600 ish rpm by that I mean you can drive the engine hard up to ...

Re: Help with fault codes please

Generic scanners / code readers are sometimes inaccurate with VAG cars as the fault codes are held on a modular level as well as in the ECU. 01650 and 01652 are glow plug faults on cylinders 2 and 4 respectively. 05714 usually refers to something wrong with the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) but as...

Help with fault codes please

I was coming home tonight and I’ve had this code come up on the scan tool 05714 and last week I had 01650, 05491, 01652 with these coming on together after starting it. With the first code not sure if this is linked but driving home tonight down the dual carriageway about 70ish it seems to cut out f...

Which glow plug voltage

As above really, I’ve had glow plug no. 2 fail and have decided to replace all 4. The only thing is I’ve noticed that some say 4.4v and others are 7v, so which ones do I need or does it not matter as I’m replacing the set?

Re: Snapped cambelt advise

It was a full kit when the belt was done, I've been shown the invoices and I know the garage manager so I believe what he's said and shown me as he didn't need to go to all the effort of finding the invoices and paperwork etc.

Snapped cambelt advise

My B6 estate has just snapped its cambelt 9000 plus miles prematurely, what else will be effected? Is it worth fixing? If I do fix it what sort of money will it cost? Is it worth arguing with the garage I brought it from 11 months ago seeing as they sold it after being fully maintained by them?

B6 Daily Driver

Been on here for a few months now and I've just thought I haven't posted any photos yet, so here's my b6 daily driver. It's a 56 plate 2.0 tdi s dsg (140), with 106k on the clock. The plans are a few minor mods mainly to make it easier to live with etc. so don't expect nothing to wild. Some of you m...
