Re: BKP underboost
I would suggest you fix the problem you know you have first. If there is an-metered air getting in the ecu is likely to reduce boost anyway as there is a problem. Sort the leak and see what else is left afterwards. Not saying there isn't another problem, but the air inlet leak needs sorting before y...

Re: Parking brake stuck ON
There is a sticky link to epb failure. I think the info is there, possibly just a corroded connection or switch fault but may be motor issues. Remove the motors so at least you can drive the car without a hand brake.
Does not need a hammer for these rear brakes I'm afraid.

Re: Fitting lowering springs (drive shaft nut)
I did manage to change my front springs without removing the drive shaft. It is a pain of a job as there is only just enough clearance with a bit of leverage to get the strut in and out. Like already said, if you can get a set of spring clamps on the spring first that will help. I have a small set o...

Re: Instrument Cluster / Clocks Swap + MFSW Retrofit
Sorry to jump in, but why don't 3as clocks work properly in a b6? It's what's in mine and they seem to work, although I've nothing to compare too, what am I missing?

Re: is a bxe engine worth remapping
I know what everyone will say, but mine is much better with a DT UK box. It's at 180,000 miles now and done the last 20,000 with the box. Sure some will blow up, as will some that haven't been messed with, rag any car and it will give in. I don't thrash the car, but it's got much better low down gru...

Re: Drivers door lock
Not opening or not unlocking?
If it unlocks but won't open try pulling both the inside and outside handle at the same time several times till it starts working again.

Re: rear pads
When mine failed the code was something to do with not making the required pressure. I guess it could be a logic function to do with the current draw on the motor, but the motor moves the same piston and the brake pedal dips as the hand brake comes on, so it must be having an impact on the hydraulic...

Re: rear pads
The hand brake works on pressure, if the motor runs for too long without the brake line pressure reaching the required pressure it will tell a fault code and disable the handbrake. Diagnostic machine is the way to go, however as moto had shown above there looks to be a work around. I see no reason w...

Re: Reverse camera
Cheers, looking on eBay etc, it seems the boot handle ones don't include the electric button for the boot release like the oem one was. They are just a handle, looking for something that links in easily to the rns315. Maybe one that fits into the number plate light like Preston ice have.

Reverse camera
Hi all, I an trying to get the wife to drive the estate, but she is put off by the size (she's not been driving to long and nothing bigger that a corsa) and she won't park it if she has to reverse. Long story short I'm looking at putting a camera in it, I've got an rns 315 already fitted along with ...

Re: rear pads
That's correct, the handbrake won't come on automatically if you don't have your seatbelt on. However, the pads sit very close to the disc with the handbrake off and to replace them you do need to retract them fully using a diagnostic tool capable of the job. I am fairly sure that if you retract the...

Re: Polo Q - How do you Perform Oxygen Sensor Aging Check amongst others?
Bank one refers to one side of a v engine, straight 4 only has bank one if that makes sense. Cat efficiency code means the sensor after the cat is not giving the expected reading and it could be the cat isn't working correctly anymore or a sensor fault or as you said, a leak in the system. I don't k...

Re: RNS315 Nav Problem
I can't comment on why yours in wandering, but I have a retro fitted 315 in my 2006. I used an aftermarket GPS antenna fitted in between the centre air vents and it has been working perfectly for the past 8 months. I would think a genuine antenna should work fine, is behind the radio the location of...

2000 beetle boost control valve fault
Hi, I can't remember the code number but the description is boost controller mechanical fault. The car runs fine but it is putting the engine light on. The car is a 2000 beetle 1.8t and I'm not exactly sure how the system controls the boost so I'm not sure where to start looking. We borrowed the ele...

Swapped for a new genuine one, pattern one or reconditioned one. Might be worth getting the wiring to that injector checked.

Re: Camera/sensor on the back of interior mirror?
I'm sure the sensor on the front of the mirror is to sense day/night as you don't want the mirror dimming in the day, sensor below the glass on the mirror then picks up bright light from behind and dims the mirror if its dark outside.

Re: Smelly White Eye Watering Smoke PLEASE HELP ME!!
Acrid white smoke sounds like vapourised diesel. As said above you need to get the live data checked, why was #1 injector changed? It does sound like you have a duff injector and it takes a few minutes to start smoking as the exhaust needs to get hot first. If you cant get the codes read you could t...
