Mine is an 07 SEL with red MFD.
If this can be changed easily I would be very grateful as it drives me round the bend.

Have you removed the screws holding the number plate?
When I changed mine, I rolled into a tow bar and cracked my original, I found that these screws were holding the thing on also.

Re: Seat exeo 170 cr tdi sport
I had a rental Exeo Estate a couple of years ago with 140 and dingly dangly bits, GT go fast, sooper sound.
It was very nice. The 140 felt similar to my 170 Passat so what a 170 is like, pheeww!

Re: seems dead in here?
Perhaps you don't remember cars from the 60's & 70's. You where lucking to get 40,000 miles out of the engines. The bodywork had rust holes in only 2 or 3 years. I have been trawling the Classic Car section on eBay and I was shocked how few miles some of the cars of this period had on them when...

Re: P2453 code or asda fuel
I cannot comment on Supermarket fuel however I can say that having used V-Power in my current B6 and Golf 2.0TDi GT they never miss a beat. I had the same with my previous car, a Golf R32, thirsty little mare but more fun could not be had with your clothes on. I don't get the Supermarket fuel thing....

Re: Which passat
I have a 2.0TDi SEL DSG 170 Estate. I acquired the car in July 2007 with 3,000 miles on the clock so have lived through some of the issues posted here and some extras. Apart from saw tooth rear tyres, parking brake switch, various bit of wiring loom, failed heater in drivers seat, failed injectors a...

Re: Funny noise at around 60mph upwards
I had the same issue with mine when I first bought the car. It was the rear tyres which were saw too thing on the inner edge. Swap front to back and see if the noise moves. What make tyres. I had Dunlops originally, factory fitted, and changed these for Continentals and have not had an issue since.

Re: Noisy parking brake
We talking about the EPB motors? Or the pads singing? My pads I can sometimes hear rubbing, high freq squeal when at low speeds with the window open. Motors I can hear when they activate/deactivate. I never considered either noise a sign of a problem though? Hi, thanks for the reply. The pads are t...

Noisy parking brake
I stole this comment from another post. Noise from rear electronic parking motors at £300 a pair worth looking out for, also chattering from flywheel when running. There's plenty more but I'll let others have their own input. What do you consider as noisey? When the brakes are applied on my B6 Esta...

Re: Remapping safe torque limits.
I have a 170 Wagon DSG SEL, a very nice car and not too common. I was told by an Audi tech that a remap on one of these without having the DPF removed was a dangerous this as the DPF runs hotter than designed to do so and can cause the car to catch fire. This may be bull but it has put me off a rema...

Could it be associated with selecting Reverse and the switch associated with this. Maybe the circuit is shorted out?

I bought mine in September 2007 with 3000 miles on the clock, registered February 2007. It now has 72,000 on the clock. We have a love hate relationship. I love the running costs, just had it serviced at Vindis, VW main dealer, which cost £190.00. It returns 50-55 on a run. having the 170bhp DSG po...

NSR Light Cluster
Hi,
A kind person dropped something on the NSR light cluster on my B6 Estate and cracked the outer lens.
Does anyone know where I can obtain instructions on replacing this.

There have been various posts on thhis and a number of owners have experienced similar issues. My experience was that the brake would not release, great when you are about to head home from Portland, doeset, to Cambridgeshire. ~x( Turned out the switch was faulty and once replaced it went away. \:D/

I had a test drive in one of these on Saturday.
Feels a bit more planted than my SEL and very responsive.
I am not convinced on the utilitarian finish inside and it squeeked and rattled like an old bus.
