Re: B8 Passat. Pre-launch pictures and official press releas

The important questions are

1) Does the S model have exercise windows in the back?
2) Does the jack create an A&E visit?
3) Will the handbrake get stuck on at traffic lights?
4) Will we get wet computers when it rains?

Re: working on your car

With previous cars with simple engines I've liked to have a go myself, changing exhausts on 2CVs, swapping carburetors on Golfs, swapping alternators on various things... but as my cars have got more complex I've started to leave it to the mechanics. I wouldn't know where to plug the laptop in to on...

I did, and won! But it was a right pain in the backside.

I was secretly hoping for some sort of big comedy hammer to emerge from their screen and smash them over the head.

Re: Losing the will to live...

I had a similar problem recently.

Listed an item for sale.

Person wins item, immediately messages to say they don't want it.

THAT'S NOT HOW EBAY WORKS

Then they give me negative feedback...

Load liners

Greetings! I'm after a load liner for my B6 saloon. The "proper" VW one is about ten million pounds so that's a no-go. If I go to eBay and look, there's so many it's hard to know. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=passat+load+liner+B6&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m...

Re: Tyre sidewall treatment

I bought the Megs stuff in the end, looks pretty good. Not exactly dealership-spec shiny but I think I need to clean the sidewalls better before I apply it.

Possibly with an armoured personnel carrier of some sort?

Tyre sidewall treatment

Hi folks I've had my car a while and really missing what it looked like when I picked it up from VW! I've been using Auto Glym vinyl and rubber care on my sidewalls because it looks "okay" but it's more of an interior/plastics thing and tends to wear off fast. Anyone got any recommendation...

Re: Potential Passat owner looking for advice

Thanks for that, it's a good starting point. I'd be looking at cars around 2006-2008 I think. I like the full leather Sport seats so that's something to look out for. That might sound fussy, but the ST220 has heated leather Recaros, and I've grown quite attached to them, so would like something com...

Hopefully this helps. Latterly the models changed so it really depends on what year you're looking at.
