sorry, i now see the link. However it seems inconclusive in respect of deleting the EGR and especially if to do so is legal. And, it seems to relate to the 1.6tdi - mine is a 2.0tdi 170.

This tells me it is EGR. The warning light is very intermittent, 115k miles, 6 months out of VW ‘goodwill’ post emissions fix warranty. Car runs absolutely fine. Presumably EGR needs replacing? Is deleting it beneficial? Downsides? Still on original DPF. 2013 B7 Alltrack 2.0TDI with DSG. Any idea of...

Thanks, always understood it was emissions related warning only however I now have it booked in to my local spannerman next week for diagnostics. Car is otherwise running absolutely fine.

Forgot to add it is a 2.0tdi 177 Alltrack with DSG.

Is the engine warning light likely to be EGR or DPF? Had the emissions fix about 36,000 miles ago (at 74,000 miles) and now out of the ‘fix’ warranty by 4 months. Always use VPower type fuel and dealer serviced with next probably due in about 2 months.

Hoping now sorted, had the flexible washer pipe replaced today for £30 including the car being washed and vacced at IVS in Huddersfield. Hoping the multi plug hasn’t been permanently affected by the fluid.... just need to clean the stain from the roof lining and fingers crossed no more erratic night...

I had this problem 18 months ago and sorted it with research. The VW dealer claimed there wasn’t a fault.......

After a few days without any problems the alarm went off again last night. Finally tracked it down, leaking washer pipe into roof lining..... will book it into local spanner man to look at it. Igb1961, did you use a body shop or local mechanic/garage to sort yours?
