ive just bought some veg nozzles from canada tdi club forum users say there good for the money $99 gonna get them mounted and balanced properly and see what happens if the mpg remains the chips are out

hi give me a rought figures because i am thinking of getting my passat done :D
I hope it doesnt end up drinking like mine now does after my new chips went from 39-41mpg brim to brim down to 32-34mpg although i think the new map has highlighted a problem the car already has but ive spent hours ...

just cleaned my maf although vagcom graphs looked ok pickup is alot better...

i thought that but ive checked all boost pipes and intercooler all ok,it also feels like the remap has dissapeared wheather its because it has or ive got used to it because i want more power but my flywheel cant take anymore so i might be putting in a awx clutch and fly.

yeah had a new cts and stat maf and boost readings look fine on vagcom etc...

the difference between a chip and a remap is that chips have to be soldered into the ecu and a remap is done through the diagnostic port for more modern ecus.waiting to be corrected

£199 and he came to my house approx 1hr to do the job power suppose to be 140bhp dont know about torque sorry plus a bit of flywheel judder....

omg just filled my car up since new cts and stat bear in mind this is a b5 110 tdi before the chips the mpg was 38-40 my fill up came in at 31.5mpg 400 miles on 57 litres driving is dual carriageway and a bit of town .the car is more smokey than before the chips what do i do?? :sad: :sad: :sad: :sad:

has anyone with a b5 110tdi been upsoluted and started smoking and i dont mean on the fags :hyst :hyst :hyst as mine has become pretty smokey im woundering if the chips have just highlighted a boost leak vagcom seems happy with map pressures i cant hear anything would it be worth spraying brake or ...

heres my story i have a b5 tdi 110 ive just had chips installed by simon (upsolute)and the mpg fell through the floor 30mpg brim to brim :0 :0 :0 i then watched the coolant temp on vagcom it was between 70 and 76 degrees it never went above this so i changed the coolant temp sensor to a green one ...

it depends as some are different if your old one is blue its probably the wrong one does your green one have like a D shaped connector or is it a very dark green one with a square connector???

well another little update my 15 mile to work journey went very good the vagcom temp was between 88 and 92 degrees so i hope thats sorted it...

ok ive changed the stat which was £7 with ring from gsf and now it reads 87-92 whilst driving around town via vagcom i sat idling for 5 mins with hot blowers on full it dropped to 85 wheres before it was 72 :D.before the new stat it was reading 70-74 whilst driving around plus there is less soot ...

has anybody with a tdi plugged there vagcom in and watched how long it takes to get to 90 degrees via vagcom and not the gauge as mine took 15 miles to get to 88 degrees from cold then falls again as soon as im stopped is this a thermostat stuck open ya think..?????

just keep looking along the right hand side of the head with the engine cover off until you see a blue plug pal..

i think ive sorted it now as ive put the new green coolant sensor on and noticed it doesnt smoke as much now but it didnt smoke at all before the chip and wondering if the chip exaggerated the problem i didnt know i had
so we will see....

right little update ive done 150 miles since the chips from a full tank and just filled it back up with journeys of 15 miles, 4 town and 11 dual carriageway and a bit around town came out at 26.6mpg before was 38mpg not happy :0 :0 :0 if it carries on like this il be on the phone to simon to remove ...
