The pictures on my phone are too big to post sorry.
I used 2 original fixings at the front just behind the front bumper and 2 rivnuts to fix at the rear.

Re: Methods for raising sump/engine
I went adifferent route, I removed the undertray and made a metal sump guard.
Works perfectly. Takes the impact of speed humps, lumps on the road, steep driveways and even unexpected objects in the road. Granted, its makes one hell of a noise and the scraping makes people look but my sump is safe.

Re: LED bulbs........what do you use?
Yes I understand this, the bulbs I fitted were "error free" obviously not. The bulbs were advised again on MOT for showing more white light than orange...... leds should last longer and will match the door mirror indicators that are LED from factory........ So does anyone else use led bulb...

LED bulbs........what do you use?
I'm looking to change the indicator bulbs (581 bulb) in my B5.5 wagon.
I tried some from ECP, these flashed normally with remote lock/unlock but fast flashed when indicating like a bulb out.....
Does anyone us led bulbs their indicators?
Is so, which type of error free?
Cheers

Re: Stinky diesel smell and white smoke from exhaust
Thanks Dave.
I would like to think it can't be seals as they are less than than 3 weeks since I put them in and I fitted new stretch bolts to the injector clamps and torque them plus the 170°.
Would a faulty injector show up on a scan?
Cheers

Re: My 286K Passat B5.5 passed today's M.O.T!
That's great news.
These engines are good for some big miles.
Mine has done 230k and when washed still looks like a new car, drives like one and is as comfortable as one.
People are surprised it's still going with its original head gasket and turbo

Re: Rear door electrics - isolating the lock
I have the same problem. As I use the for going to work and back and we don't have kids (so no real use for the back doors), I took the door panel off, accessed the lock behind the metal panel and disconnect the lock. I leave the door locked (Can be operated by pulling the knob up and down if needed...

Re: heater stuck on hot
I too had the same problem 2 yrs ago. Check the outputs from your climate module. I traced the wiring to the hot/cold servo motor, checked outputs at that end, found I had nothing at motor operation pins so power probed them from the climate module plug and the motor moved. Although I had 3 faults a...

Thank you for your reply.
It's a genuine part from TPS.
I only use genuine parts as have previous experience with cheap non genuine parts failing or faulty when fitted.

In the last couple of weeks it's had a new genuine injector loom and a new battery ( biggest cranking amps I can get in that size battery )
What's the issue with the cam ?
If it was worn, wouldn't it be troublesome every time it's started ?
Cheers

Re: Adjustable Coilovers for B5.5...very happy
They look smart.
What make are they ?
Do you have a link or company you got them from ?
I've got FK on mine and the adjusters are seized solid.
I'm unable to raise the height of it as it rubs everywhere and looking for a new set to fit.
These will do the trick.
Thanks

AVB engine intermittent miss at idle.
Any ideas please guys. I've just serviced it and changed glow plugs (it's starts better now) and changed the injector loom for a genuine VW part. It's done 203,500 miles now and has been missing only on idle for the past 6 odd months. I've posted before about this and changed the injector loom as th...

On the steering wheels with buttons there is a small round press button on the back of the left hand side that turns the back light on or off on the steering wheel controls.

Could this be the start of injector wiring issues?
Hi all. Ive a b5.5 AVB estate. Its now done 195255 miles. Over the last 1000 miles ive noticed the odd miss while sitting in traffic @ idle.
