Re: long brake pedal problems
RichardSEL a quick query for you... I notice how you previously mentioned about not using dot 4 brake fluid. My B6 Estate is going in on Tuesday to have the brakes looked at as the pedal has started going a bit long (& I'm a bit of a sissy when it comes to brakes... I leave it to the experts). W...

Re: Water in interior space behind rear arch
My previous idea that this issue was being caused by a leaking screenwash bottle has been proved to be wrong... so again, if anyone can offer their knowledge or experience it would be appreciated.

Re: Water in interior space behind rear arch
Having investigated this further, the water may potentially be from another source... possibly from a leaking screen-wash bottle kept in the liner pocket. I'm trying to keep all options open as there's no obvious source. There's no corrosion, which is always a bonus... but again, if anyone else has ...

Water in interior space behind rear arch
Hi guys, I've just been removing interior boot trim inside my Estate to find there's water behind the rear Arch in the space where the parking sensor unit is housed. Have been removing the panels to locate the wiring to change the ducting Gromit that takes the wiring from the roof space into the boo...

B6 estate tailgate wiring gators
I'm looking to replace the gators that protect the wiring that goes into the tailgate/boot lid & have recently been to my local VW dealer to enquire about this part. Their on screen diagram didn't bare much resemblance to the part I'm looking for. Has anyone here replaced these & happen to h...

Re: B6 4-wheel alignment
Rhos on sea, just beyond Colwyn Bay.
Have had the car for two & a half years now... think I've pretty much set my mind on rectifying the couple of issues on it & selling it on before it costs me any more dough. Lovely car but the B6 is a bit too much like an Alfa for my liking

Re: B6 4-wheel alignment
Thanks for getting back to us, Mitch. I had to ask the question... after all they're not the guys I usually take the car to & there are some chancers out there.

Re: B6 4-wheel alignment
Quick update. Took my car to the independent garage today... noticed they use Hunter alignment equipment, bonus! Had the alignment checked/measured. Gave them the go ahead but they couldn't do it because a bolt on the drivers side trailing arm has seized in the bush. Was charged £10+vat for the alig...

B6 1.9 tdi service
Hi guys. My '06 B6 estate is creeping towards 109000 miles & is due it's service. I did it myself last year replacing the air, oil, fuel & cabin filters along with oil change & the usual lights/fluid levels check. After taking the advise from a V-Dub enthusiast colleague, I used the quan...

B6 4-wheel alignment
Hi everyone, I've not been on for some time. My '06 estate had its MOT last week & apart from the usual "cannot inspect certain areas due to under trays/panels" advisory, the tester highlighted that there was a need for a 4-wheel alignment (a task they are not kitted out for). I spoke ...

Re: Accelerator pedal resistance '06 B6 1.9 TDI
Thanks for the response. Looks like it was a stone or some other foreign object, as I've had no trouble since. I should have mentioned, mine's a manual gearbox... I take it yours is an auto. Ta again.

Accelerator pedal resistance '06 B6 1.9 TDI
Hi everyone. I've owned my 2006 B6 1.9 TDI for two years, it's all standard & has under 105k miles on the clock. Only since yesterday evening, I've noticed an intermittent resistance in the accelerator pedal. Had a quick feel around in the dark, for stones... No joy. Going to give it a 2nd look ...

Re: B6 rear door won't open from inside or out (childlock on
I'm back in the room. Hi all, I tried the suggested fixes this morning to no avail. I decided to remove the door card in whatever way necessary. This is how I did it & should anyone use this method, they do so at their own risk. I started with the methodical approach (rather than go straight int...

Re: B6 rear door won't open from inside or out (childlock on
Thanks for all the replies. Been meaning to log on sooner but had "day surgery" two and a half weeks ago an' haven't been the same since! Will try out those remedies & let you know how I get on. Dare I say it but the more reviews I read and owners I speak to... VW should have sold the ...

B6 rear door won't open from inside or out (childlock on)
Hi, I currently have a B6 ('06 plate) 1.9 estate. Recently went to get in the car & as per usual, my other half pulled like hell on the handle at the first click instead of waiting for the second (though I have tried to explain it umpteen times)... and have been unable to open the door since. We...
