A mate currently owns a 2001 130 hp 1.9 tdi B5.5 and has been offered one of the last of the B5.5 in top spec but with the 100 hp engine.
What parts would he need to upgrade the power to 130 hp?
Any idea of the approximate costs involved?

Re: Should I buy a B6?
Thanks all. Looks like I need to find a rare CR Sport 4Motion then. Do these have cruise control?

Should I buy a B6?
I owned a B5 2.8 4motion previously which was a great car and proved to be very reliable until it was about 10 years old with 130k miles when it started to have a few issues and I sold it. I now have a Subaru Legacy spec b which is proving troublesome at half that mileage.

Whirring noise from centre vents
I have whirring and clicking noises coming from my centre vents with the ignition on. It sounds like an electric motor actuator or something. The vents themselves can be opened and closed via the climatronic controls as normal though.

Re: 4motion lowered springs
Whatever Chris, but that's the way I did it.
If you replace the rear springs my way you don't disturb the wheel allignment bolt and mine was still within spec with the Eibachs on.
How did you get the front shock out, did you have to seperate the two lower balljoints from the hub carrier?

Re: 4motion lowered springs
Rear springs are easy to change and you don't need to disturb the bottom wishbone or your wheel allignment bolts. You will need to remove the upper wishbone though which is only two bolts.
Changing the front springs involves the well known problem of removing the pinch bolt holding the upper arm ...

Re: Lower arms removal - how?
'None of the parts I removed, at 90K miles, appeared damaged or worn out.'
Just curious, why did you replace them?
I've just done mine because the rear lower bushings were shot and the upper front ball joints were knocking. It was cheaper to buy the full febi kit than 4 arms from my local supplier ...

Is the pinion above or below?
Quick question. On the steering rack is the pinion (turned by the steering wheel) above or below the rack?
Thanks

ABS light on, no coms with diagnostics
I put the car into the local garage as the ABS light is on but they've come back saying there's no communication with the diagnostics. They think it's a fauty ABS ECU. What are my options? :(

V6 30v breather pipe diagram
Does anyone have a diagram of the breather pipe system on the 30v 2.8 V6 engine? I need the short (15cm or so)plastic one from the back of the inlet manifold and the parts guys are struggling to find it on the system.

Re: Beeper!
OMG, what have I started. The light comes on intermittently with the beeper and is only warning that the ABS is no longer active. So what? I'm 41 years old and most of the cars I've owned never had ABS anyway. I also managed to compete very successfully in road rallies without this 'safety feature ...

Re: Beeper!
I have a dodgy ABS sensor so it beeps 3 times for that, then goes off, then beeps 3 times when it comes on again,..........Aaaaargh. I don't have time to get that fixed at the moment. So, that one, where is it?

Re: Stiffer suspension on an SE 4motion?
Hi, I have a 2.8 V6 4motion and fitted Eibach springs which certainly improve the handling and reduce the body roll. They are a bit too firm for me on the poor quality roads we have up here in the NE of Scotland but are probably what you're looking for.

Re: Short exhaust flexi
That would be great Paul.
The options I have are
AM 4020-2-ILOK which I think is just a 105mm flexi with no tube ends
OR
AM20051ILOKTE

Short exhaust flexi
Hi, I'm new on here and looking for some advice on where to source a short (85-90mm) exhaust flexi pipe.
It's for a 2.8 V6 4Motion where the flexi is part of the cat section. The shortest length I can find is 105mm from 'senior aftermarket'. A cack handed grease monkey managed to split the original ...
