Re: Alarm fault
Depends what's fitted to yours mate. Either by removing the alarm or doing a vcds scan should give you the right part no.
And for mine. Chinese copy on eBay for about £25.

Alarm fault
Nope unfortunately wheel and arch liner off. Done in about 15 minutes. Only a few torx screws hold in it in. Ive thought about extending the wires to move it though for future. Oh and the metal bracket that holds the siren is held on by 2 rivets so will need drilling out. Sent from my iPhone using T...

Re: Alarm fault
Not sure on internal sensors but the alarm siren is more than likely buggered.
Drivers side wheel arch up near the door hinge (behind the wing though)
I removed mine and split it open and inside the battery had leaked and destroyed the circuit board.

Re: 505.01 Vs 507.00
Hope this is allowed here as it seems to be a general oil thread now..
What oil is recommended for a 1.4 Astra GTC that I can also use in the BKP Passat? Got services coming up shortly so probably cheaper to buy in bulk.
Sorry if this is off topic.

Strange to find indicators only being 10w, I would have thought 21w as a minimum?
Definitely 10w?

Re: DSG oil change
Ive priced up doing this myself. Oil is around £100 plus filter and you need VCdS to monitor oil temp when re-filling. So if you have VCDS and don't mind using a Saturday afternoon then I'd say do it yourself. Otherwise dealer price is OK and ill be paying it in a few months because I don't have VCD...

I did the same fitting leds in my luggage area. Mine was a 10A one (red) should help you narrow it down a bit.

Re: Door warning lights fault codes
I'd try the normal bulbs too first.
The problem with LEDs is the minimal current draw and when a controller expects to see a 0.5A draw and only gets 0.1A for example it flags up as an error.

Hoping someone in here can help... subframe alignment bolts - what actually are they? I'd have guessed at a bolt with a eccentric outer sleeve that bolts up in the right spot for re-fit but the laser tools one looks like some kind of shell held together with a spring? Anyone got any and can shed som...

Re: HID Recommendations
The modules we use are roughly £250 but there will be cheaper ones available. I will have a good look into it when I have some free time. Saw some earlier for around £80 for a single axis (like what would be needed for headlight adjustments).
