in regard to the 1.6 the 2.0 is a different beast,better suited to the car,low down torque plenty to give on the motorway.

well that sounds like an internal fitment vibration then if you can replicate the noise with the engine off.

I'm with you on the floaty rear end, its very noticeable on the standard setup, my only guess is vw's choice to use a soft bush setup.
