As i said the brake fluid has just been changed,

The brakes were ok when i first got the car thats why i never considered going for the 312 upgrade... im now off to order ATE powerdiscs and green stuff pads and if that doesnt help then i will look to do the uprgrade

I happened to ask the MOT tester how the brakes where during the test and he said i have about 80% efficacy from them ...................ok thats after the car has sat for a while and not had my style of driving !!!!

make sure you havent got any poo of any sort on the gold/brass connectors, do you always put it in the plastic case ?

The clicking from the central locking could be 1 of the lock mechanisms going wrong ...see if some one on here is local to you and has VAG-COM that could pop round for a beer and do a read out for ya.

Ok may sound silly but have you checked the fade setting on the head unit ? if all that is ok check the wires running from the post to the rear doors (open the door and look hinge side there will be a rubber flexi hose) have the stereo on and try wiggling the wires ..the wires my have split (common ...
