Glad u managed to get a result for your creaking. My VW dealer serviced the car today and 'lubricated' the suspension was all the girl at the desk could say.

Thanks for your reply. I must say I am a little disappointed too with this new passat. Lovely drive but is let down by this problem and the unrefined engine at low throttle. If the suspension can be fixed I will keep it, otherwise I shall change as it is too intrusive inside the cabin.

But thats what you pay to have a new car, affects all makes/models. You can't avoid that.
The only way this makes sense is to keep the car for 10years + as I did with my previous Passat.

From the latest indepent research into emmisions....Only 6 vehicles have complied with the EURO 6 standard, 1 audi, 1 Skoda and 4 VW.

The B8 Passat 1.6 meets the standard but not the 2.0.

I have the 2.0 saloon to replace my B5 high line estate of 10 years.

I feel the new car is a massive improvement in every respect and have difficulty finding fault. I have smooth, quiet, refined, economical, fault free driving for the last 7-8 months ...

I can't seem to turn off the rear interior reading lights in my SE Business.

I have tried the buttons fore and aft in the cabin to no avail. i have interrogated the manual and the infotainment system/settings without success.

Am I missing something or is this the first glitch?

I agree with the 'boomy' sounding rear end. The car seems to ride better with rear seat passengers,
Also find that whilst in a bend, a bump or uneven road surface will unsettle the rear end.
Other than that the car is well composed.

As someone has already remarked, the Passat is no 3 series.
