Re: Issues: Mats, rails and wheels (B5.5)

Well, things have become a little more complicated. The parts guy tried the mats in a 5.5 they had in the workshop, and they fitted fine; so he called me in to pick them up. In my car, they are a terrible fit. It turns out I have an asymmetric exhaust tunnel in the rear footwell... Going to have to ...

Re: Issues: Mats, rails and wheels (B5.5)

Ah I see! Awesome, thanks! Murrays parts-guy, watch out!

I was wanting to have a little browse through all the steelies that were ever OE on b5/5.5s with a view to future banding. But that's a while off really, just piecing together a plan!

Thanks again for your help mate!

Re: Issues: Mats, rails and wheels (B5.5)

Excellent, thanks for the reply! I love UK Passats! I'll get to the stealers after work.
Referencing the roof rail seals, the diagram that came up on the system did not show them as a separate part, whereas it did when he tried on a golf (I think) estate... Should the parts guy be digging deeper?

Re: Issues: Mats, rails and wheels (B5.5)

Cheers for the replies guys. The problem with the mats is that there doesn't seem to be any record on the vw system of rear mats with oval studs, yet that is what the car had. I'll go for the studless ones if I have to but I'd rather replace like with like... As for the rail corrosion, I read that t...

Issues: Mats, rails and wheels (B5.5)

Not been on here in a while, I used to have a Red B4 Wagon which unfortunately got written off by a flying starter motor... :( But now, after three years of Saab ownership I'm back in the world of Passats with a Grey B5.5 Highline TDI Wagon! However, there are a few issues I'm having and I wondered ...

My car had the constant power wire, and the earth in the wrong slot on the connector, so they didn't line up with the ones in the HU connector. Double check all the wires line up across the connectors... I routed an 8g cable straight from the battery, and ran an 8g earth to the firewall; but patchin...

Re: house speakers help

They're seperate crossovers for amps with mid/low and high outputs for each speaker. If you get an amp with one output per speaker then you may be able to join them to the same channel. Only the manufacturer can tell you this though... Is it like this? http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/images/stories/2...

Yeah the chinese ones are ok, no good in fog though lol! VW want like £200 for the hellas but apparentl;y there are no OS blanks left in the uk (to fit in between the indicator and fog)... Go for the ebay ones if you're not worried about performance, they light up and look fine.

I agree with penri. I like having an awesome car that people don't recognise. Seriously 60% of people that see percy don't know hes a vw let alone a passat. The fact that he corners like a demon, blows your head off with the sound system and looks f*ckin cool; is for me to know and for them to quiet...

From experience I will second both the panasonic and canon ixus, VERY good cameras for the money. My sis has just got the panasonic DMC-FS62EB-A and it takes awesome pictures in all lights, the presets are really good and light metering is almost instantaneous; which isn't that common on cam...
