all being well I will be registering the vcds this weekend and will then recode the can gateway and scan it again and now I know how to post right I will post faults......... as for the wiring I have found broken wires at the abs sensor which I have fixed....... also I am tracing most off the wiring ...

it was a borrowed lead as mine hadn't arrive and I didn't trust the garage it was left in2.... I will be getting it recoded in the next week or two as ive ordered the sensors that are faulty and will replace them first and as I said I do apologise for the way I posted the last post I am totally new ...

the car uses no water at all and yes it is using fuel as im only getting bout 39 to a gallon this is the main reason im trying to sort the problem...... I did try and scan it 2nite again as its bout a 22mile drive home from work in which half is m/way driving but now when I try to scan for faults it ...

well I did scan it on Sunday and I did clear everything on it that I could and I scanned 2nite again and I got some faults back which are......... 01222 crash sensor side airbag passenger side (G180) also 00588 and 00532 but say I need to register shareware so don't know what they are...... 00667 ...

I would AGREE with you there but I will say that buying genuine parts all the time doesn't guarantee the problem will be solved...... as ive spent over £300 on timing belt,water pump,stat etc and still got same problem .....

well Alan my thermostats are genuine vw stats and been tested b4 being put in also my cts was got from my vw dealer but if I could get a gates one I would try it as this is doing my head in........ I will say since my flush and cleaning out matrix my heat in car is 10 times better no matter where ...

may I ask where can I get it as it would be handy

no I don't have that or anything like that the only thing I use is the climate control

i have changed everything that I can rad,,,,thermostat,,,,cts,,,,,water pump flushed I don't know how many times and still same problem only thing I have left is to get it connected to a computer to see if it helps....... yes fz911 it should as my last 2 engines did even though the head gasket was gone on them as for the thermostat its fine as it is as it wont open as car doesn't hit 87 degrees c so it stays closed and id say youll be having same problem as me with over fuelling.......... also with it not reaching ...

well fz911 I thought that to that it was normal but ive found that the ecu is over fuelling the car as it is not reaching normal temp......... since I cleaned the matrix out I do get better heat but car wont no matter what I do/fix it still wont reach normal temp but if I climb a steep hill it rises ...

well this is the second engine ive put in the car as the original blew the head gasket and damaged the turbo the second engine was the same as original so this engine is fine and has bout 140k on it but clock has original miles which is 187k........... I have no mayo at all anywhere not on cap ...

ok an update I run the car Friday afternoon and Saturday without the thermostat in and a flush in then I back flushed the whole system including the matrix for about two hours......... I then put in a new thermostat,,,,,, temp sensor,,,,,, thinking that would work but it didn't still same problem ...

the car does maintain pressure not much mind you........ also I did back flush the matrix but I totally disconnect it first I let the water run both ways for about 20mins each way but I didn't run the car........ this weekend Ill be flushing it out with a flush without thermostat being in also got ...

that's a good idea rodnay but id say its matrix as the rad is new........ I even replaced the oil cooler as water flow was a tad slow through it but no different as its a old car I was thinking may something in the block being restricted.......... as on way home from work I tried something I drove ...

I know it is a strange one but on this car I have a fan that runs all the time its belt driven which means I cant stop it running.......... to me its something restricting the water ways but I have use a garden hose to flush it and it flows fine I cant use a flush in it as it wont reach normal temp ...

I do thank all very much for helping to try and sort this it has me stumped...... I will try and bypass the matrix to see what happens as I wouldn't thought off trying that..... just one thing im curious off if a hose is collapsing internally when warm would it cause the problem???? ..... and if so ...

I have no oil/water mix at all and no back pressure in water system plus hoses on rad are not overly hard also it is a new water pump just fitted on Friday, as for an air lock I really don't know if there is or not I have bled it with the bleed hole on matrix return hose and lifting the heater tank ...
