Re: Passenger Side Rear Cluster LED light

Mine is a 2009 car on 70k and they were replaced under warranty but it's now out of warranty so unless you have an extended or "aftermarket" warranty I doubt you'll be covered.

You try eBay or a local scrappy.

Removing dash panel?

I noticed last week when we had summer that the clear bit of plastic over the display in between the speedo and rev counter has dust in/under it. I know it's a bit OCD but it annoys me on those two or three days a year when we have sun and I'd like to clean it out. Anyone know how to remove the pane...

Re: insurance remap

I wouldn't risk it. 12 years ago I was minding my own business when someone jumped a light on me and did this http://www.desmond73.freeserve.co.uk/Images/N106CKU%20Smashed%20Ft.jpg The car was remapped and they found it out. They refused cover until I pointed out I had disclosed it on my proposal. D...

I'm back

Well the Passat went a few months back as I had a job with a company car (I had an 11 plate Insignia). Well to cut a long story short I quit the job. I've been out of work for a month but now I have another job and today I purchased my new car, I was looking at Mondeos, Insignia and the like. My old...

... and on that note I bid you fairwell.

Well the Passat has now sold, I actually got a better price from a dealer than I could have from selling it privately and I saved all the listing fees. It will leave me on Friday having not moved since the new company car arrived a month ago (60 plate Volvo V50 R-Design before ppl ask!) Overall I ha...

Re: Tyre Sizes

Don't forget it has 235/45 for a reason, if you put incorrect sized tyres on then your insurance company will have something to say. What you save in fuel you'll probably have to pay as an additional premium.

It's supposed to be half decent but not as good as the real thing, more like an intense cleaner than a proper clay. It will make a difference, just remember to add your choice of protection again once done.

Re: Help! Diesel engine stopped and wouldn't re-start

Funnily enough mine has been fine as well but it is also being put up for sale very soon, not because of any of these problems but because I got myself a new job and with the miles I'll now be doing I opted for the company car again. Looks like it could be a Peugeot 407. Regarding the 170 I thought ...

Re: Terrible Tyre Wear - 2.0TDI 140

I've just put the third set on the front of mine 2.0 TDI 140 Sport DSG (with 235/45 R17 97 Pirelli P-Zeros). Mine usually gets 19k out the fronts. I also put the new tyres of the rear wheels and swap the worn ones on the front.

Re: Dead Battery - or is dead car?

Bizzarely my issue seems to have resolved itself. With the RAC here the car struggled into life then stalled again and then struggled to start again but after reving it a bit and clouds of black smoke it seemed to clear and has been fine since. I've dropped it down to the local dealer and they ran a...

Re: Help! Diesel engine stopped and wouldn't re-start

Mine is currently sat at home now unable to be started (I'm away) turns over fine but no firing. It'll get recovered to the local dealer for them to fix. Depending what's wrong it's probably gonna get sold. Sounds like injector failure. Diesel waxing is almost unheard of these days. Just on a sligh...

Dead Battery - or is dead car?

I've not driven my car in the snow so I went to start it tonight and the battery appeared to be flat. Put it on charge for a hour and a half but still dead, no chance of bump start because its an auto. I've ordered a battery from Halfords as I need to drive (with family) to my parents tomorrow for C...

I have a 57 plate 2.0 TDI Sport DSG. I've had it for two years and put over 20k of miles on it (only 41k in total). The only problem I have had so far is the handbrake switch which was changed under warranty. Having said that I do have the worry at the back of my mind about all the issues but luckil...

Re: First time Clay / SRP and then AG HD wax....advice welcomed

+1 on plenty of lube when claying. I don't want to scare you but I didn't use enough and caused some marring which I had to get machined out. As a result I got into detailing and now have my own machine. Claying is really straight forward just make sure you use enouigh lube. The clay should glide ov...
