Managed to get it sorted. The Towbar supplier were next to useless, so I contacted my local VW dealer, and they re-programmed the Cruise and Parking sensors and didn't charge me a penny!

Very good service indeed! So I now have a Passat Saloon Towbar for sale!

Hi guys, when I had my witter towbar and dedicated electronics fitted, it deactivated the parking sensors and cruise control. This was apparently normal and once they programmed the towbar electrics, everything was back to normal and I have had no issues since. So all good.

Mines sorted now. It had a few software updates just before Christmas and its now working as it should.

You won't any problems. I have already fitted winter tyres and there are no sensors in the wheels to worry about.

Mine has this very same vibration. Has the pipe clip responsible been identified?

The downside about the half leather and alcantara is that none of it is leather.

The side bolsters, seats and seat backs are all vinyl. I have the Nappa leather, as I would never go back to any form of cloth interior. I have had proper leather on every car of mine and the Mrs for the past 16 years ...

I haven't got any wind noise in mine either. Now I have put my winter tyres on, it is even quieter.

My only criticism is a slight rattle in the dash somewhere when the car is under load. Other than that its fine.

Nope, the B8 has three settings.

One that resets after a few hours
One that should keep recording until you re-set it
One that re-sets when you fill up and should not change until you fill up again.

All three re-set themselves every morning.

Good point! The spare wheel was a good deal clincher for me!

I just think it strange that you pay more for less with the R-Line.

Also, look at the Nappa leather option. £675 for the GT and in the region of £1800 for the R-Line! There the same seats apart from the 'R-Line' logo!

I have had these exact same issues.

I drove both back to back. The Sports suspension works better with the 19" wheels to be honest. The chassis is very tight and handles well.

But after my A3 S-Line, I wanted a bit of comfort!

If budget allows, go for the adaptive suspension as it is simply epic!

Yep, all B8's are not subject to the recall.

Night Blue is really nice, and you don't see many as most go for black grey or white.

I have the Nappa leather, and to be honest I have never found them to be cold. I have had full leather for nearly 20 years now. Would never go back to cloth. GT has a higher spec than the R-Line believe it or not ...

I have done mine. I needed to go after market as I wanted a flanged tow bar for the bike rack.

I have just had my winter tyres delivered today. I have to swap the tyres though, as my company won't pay for a second set of wheels.

I have a spare set of wheels for my Freelander 2 with Nokians fitted, which are awesome, but Nokia don't do 235 40 19" tyres which is my Passat's size.

Seen a black R-Line, which looked really good, but it was clean. But they do Night Blue on the R-ine now, so I bet that looks awesome!

I am glad to see the back of my A3! I had an S-Line Black Edition on a 12 plate and it was the worst car I have owned, so unreliable!

We can choose any car at work as long as it sits within a certain budget. So I did choose to have the Passat and don't for one minute regret it.
