I had the same on a 2009 passat highline - VW UK tried to say it was not covered as it was on an edge/fold part of the car and not covered!! they wanted £1100 for the bonnet to be replaced as the rust was inside the folded joint... Needless to say when I showed them up on social media for a few day...

Touran is going to be fixed without me paying anything - I think its possibly to do with the fact I will cause them trouble and the rust is very minor - so should not need spraying

Take it in and stand upto them over it...

I am ready for another fight!

My 07 touran which has already had the boot repaired now has rust under each front door handle at the front!

Taken in and had the usual stuff taken - fingers crossed I don't have the fight I had last time!

good luck - I cannot see you will need it as the warranty does to me seem pretty clear on what it is suppose to cover... Feel free to use my case if this helps as VW basically admitted the fault and sorted the bonnet after a few weeks of being shown up (took the dealer two goes to get it right aswel...

unreliable junk AND cheating emissions

sounds like my recent issue with the turbo actuator - it was underboosting - part is about £120 and about an hour to replace - car needs to be programmed to the new actuator... so will need a proper VW technician to do the job with VAG COM

Sounds like the turbo actuator - mine did it a few weeks ago - it wont accelerate quickly but it will gain speed slowly-- quick fix if done properly - part is about £130

As much as the recent OEM radios are not bad - upgrading to a pioneer/alpine etc gives so much better sound and they don't look out of place if you get a double din touch screen... I was happy with my DAB radio until I changed it - never having OEM again!

I have the same and I have replaced the speakers with upgraded units - alot of the buzzing noises coming from the speaker is the door parts loose... Its a pain but take the door panel off and try locate them - it is shocking how much is rattling in the door I have found!

I bought a 140bhp car not a 127bhp car - this will mean that the solicitors will be circling... If they could have done the emissions without dropping power they would have done - the engine clearly cannot do full power and meet the emissions hence the dodgy software - I will be taking it further if...

I have a feeling this is only going to remove the cheat software nothing more - I cannot see it reducing the emissions if they couldn't do it without cheating 4-5 years ago -why can they now do it with the same engine and technology!?

From what I can make out the flashing coil light is just a normal warning - you need to get the code read to determine the fault. Mine was the actuator on the turbo - an easy fix for a decent mechanic

I see WBAC as the least its worth but when a main dealer is offering less towards a 10 month old b8 Passat to say I was a bit shocked!!

To those who are saying why do we need compensation... I feel I have lost out as my cars value has dropped alot more than it should have done and I feel it is in part due to the negative press given due to the emissions nonsense - where it effects the car or not the value has dropped more than it sh...

My car is a 59 reg 2.0tdi CR passat highline with leather and I expect more than the £3500 I have been offered! - I have seen the same spec car/mileage for between £5500 and £6500 on ebay/autotrader...

I wont be trading it in for scrappage as I will refuse to drive a vauxhall!

I feel cheated with garages as they are very greedy - they want to make profit on the trade in aswell as the car being sold... surely a main dealer should be able to offer more for the same make car...

I have been offered less at a vw dealer than webuyancar.com offer!!

They have said the car is worth alot less than book as they get their prices from car buyers!!!!!!

So yes that is what I should be compensated for -
