EBay, I got a non genuine Votex replica for mine.
I have also seen at least 2 genuine Votex spoilers on there since I bought mine.

So also how easy is it to snap one of these when you are trying to get them out?? Get the engine nice and warm before attempting to remove them, this should help. Just be careful and patient. Of they feel like they're not moving easily give them a good soaking with something like WD40 or any other ...

Re: THAT lottery email !

I did 4 lines of chosen numbers and 1 lucky dip which cost me a tenner.
Took the ticket in to the local Tesco express and came out £25 richer :-bd
I'm normally the unluckiest bloke I know, but considering I haven't done the lottery in years I was pleasantly surprised :D

Re: Picking up new car

Same engine as you :) how do I bypass it? Would be good if this is the issue :D Just remove each water pipe connected to the cooler and connect together with a small section of plastic/metal tubing. A piece of 22mm copper pipe may fit, if not try your local motor factors. They may have something yo...

Sounds to me like its probably being mis-diagnosed !
As Toonmania said, check the oil cooler, they can split internally.
Easiest way is to temporarily bypass it.

Re: Mystery Mirrors

That's exactly how they're meant to operate. To adjust mirrors for normal driving, adjust right mirror first, then left mirror and return switch to the 'R' position. Then when reverse parking and you need to see the markings/kerb you just operate the switch on the 'R' position and both mirrors can b...

Could well be the radiator leaking, quite common on these especially at those miles.
Should be able to see some water staining either end of the rad from the engine bay, worth taking a look there.

Could well be the injector loom breaking down, but I'd check the other recommendations first as they'll be cheaper.

Re: Changed tandem pump now trouble starting

Did you fill the fuel filter with fresh fuel ? If not take the filter off and fill it with fuel, it should start a bit easier then. When replacing a diesel fuel filter its always good practice to fill it with fuel before fitting as an empty filter causes the pump to struggle to pull any fuel through...

My car's on an 03. How long did the warranty last and did I need to be the original owner? Had my 52 plate Passat done in February so yours should be ok. You need to check you're registration date on the V5. You get up to 12 years to claim on the corrosion warranty. Until you've checked that I'd do...

nicely done. just fitted a new door mech myself, and thought what a stupid design that piece of plastic is. it's impossible to remove, without the fear of the glass smashing, and when you do it's a mangled peice of mush. Re: New to the forum - Passat AC problems

Hi bud, the 35psi reading came from a Halfords ac gauge measured on the low side. Obviously being a rubbish halfords setup I could only test the low side. As you said a full set of gauges would be ideal (and something I've been meaning to invest in). So do you reckon the vagcom fault is actually a ...

Re: New to the forum - Passat AC problems

How did you come up with the 35 psi reading ? Generally a gas pressure switch fault is an indicator of low gas content, you may have ordered the pressure switch for nothing. If I were you, and if you haven't done already, I would get the car on a proper AC machine and check both the high and low pre...

Re: Vibration from front nearside wheel at speed?

Does the vibration happen at 70mph without braking ? If it does I would suggest a possible driveshaft problem. If you are also feeling a judder when braking you may well have warped brake disc/s. This will generally not cause a vibration at speed unless braking. Hi Harryspadge. Thanks for your repl...

Re: Vibration from front nearside wheel at speed?

To rule out the brake discs being the cause of your wows swap them over and see if the problem moves to the other side. I can almost 99.9% assure you that a brake disc will not cause a vibration at speeds of 70mph+ unless braking is involved. It would have to be so badly warped and out of balance t...
