Re: Idiotic Neighbours
When I was still living at my parents home back in the mid seventies my old man (a serving Met CID officer) couldn't get back on his drive. The reason being some numpty had parked his XJ6 across it and gone in the local pub. My dad rang the local police station and they wouldn't do anything, so he t...

I wouldn't let Halfords service my push bike let alone fit a clutch.

Sounds like an RNS 315 DAB unit is the way to go for you then. All you need is a mic, a DAB screen aerial and a GPS puck, the installation shouldn't take much more than 40 minutes. If you have the white MFD cluster you may need to do some VCDS coding for it all to work OEM IMHO.

Re: Passat Mods
I'm sorry to say but I have traded my Passat before it started to give me problems. I now have a two year newer and half the mileage EOS 2.0TDI DSG. I would like to say I have enjoyed my time with the Passat and will one day consider another one. I would also like to thank all you guys for your help...

Re: B6 wide arches
Sorry but why shouldn't the OP do what he wants to do, if we all applied common sense then no one would modify their cars period. I would go as far as saying IMPO that modding cars is like art for the common man and I don't understand Picaso (not the crappy french car lol) or impressionist art, as t...

I have seen this

in Bluewater Kent a couple of times He now has the arches all blended in, so it is possible but very expensive.

Re: The future of LED headlight bulbs
We had a DVSA inspection in October and I asked him about HID conversions. The reply was that as we cannot remove the headlamp bulbs to check what they are they must be treated as if they are just extra bright Halogens. They must still pass the beam pattern test and don't require washers (because we...

Re: Urgent assistance required - please help.
Sounds very much like the clutch centre plate has failed, will require a new clutch kit and I would recommend at that mileage a new DMF.

Dunno what you've had done since your post after Oct 20th last year Fogs set as DRLs or fogs set as cornering lights won't light a dash indicator light Fogs wired outside of CANbus with a relay won't light the dash fog indicator light unless you've taken a trip feed off the fogs' terminal from your...

Re: Fog lights
Just noticed that when my front fogs are on I don't get the green warning light on the dash, I still get the amber light for the rear fog though. Does this mean my gauge cluster doesn't support the front fogs or have I missed something (I do get the Euro switch light up green when the F/F are switc...

Re: Arm rest/centre console
Got an7 pictures? You can remove the top armrest peice to look closely at the mechanism, take off the rear panel with the vent/ashtray and you can then remove the top part that you lean on. There are two metal arms that slide into the sleeves you should be able to see when the rear trim is removed ...

Sorry to hijack this post, but is there a repair for the arm rest ratchet as my one collapses if you lean on it.
