Re: Cam Belt Change

Thanks for the replies guys. Interesting that the 4 year mark isn't mentioned in the manual. I wander how they'd stand legally if the Cam Belt were to go.

Cam Belt Change

My 2008 Passat is now 4 years old this month and has less than 40k on the clock. I've been advised by VW that the belt needs changing now rather than wait for the 60k mark. They've quoted me £410 which actually isn't too bad and falls in line with a couple of independent quotes I've had. I've never ...

MP3 Connectivity

Hi
Proud owner of a B6 Passat.
From the research I've done I believe I have what is known as a Delta model stereo.
I want to connect an Apple I Touch into the unit and believe I do this with a kit which connects into the CD changer socket at the rear of the Head unit
First of all is this correct ...

Re: Second hand values...

Just traded in my 02 reg 80000 mile Toyota Avensis for an 8 month old Ex Demo Passat.2.0 TDI SE. I was only offered £1500 for it but picked up the Passat for 13k. With the extras on it, it would have been over £21k new. As it was a main VW agent I thought this quite a good deal. Bottom line is ...

Ha. That'll be me trying to be a little artististic with the picture software in the second shot. It was such a gloomy day I thought I'd try and warm it up a little

My Standard B6

I already posted this in Newbies section by mistake. Thought I had better move it to where it belongs.

Had it about a month or so now, the more I drive it the more I'm starting to love it. No upgrades as yet other than the Xenons it came with as an extra. Anyway thought I'd post a couple of pics ...

Re: 2008 Passat Expected fuel Economy

Well just looked in my technical data and cannot find anything to tell me if I got PD or CR type engine. All it tells me is that I have the 103 kw TDI (140bhp) without the Diesel Particulate Filter. I assume being a 2008 model it has the latest engine which you appear to suggest is the CR?

2008 Passat Expected fuel Economy

Hi all
Had my 08 2.0 TDI 140bhp for just over a week now. Got to say I'm very impressed overall, Solidity, build quality and driving experience all top notch. One big reason for buying the car was expected fuel economy from the 2.0 TDI engine. I've just returned after a week away and have covered ...

Newbie from Hants saying Hi

Just like to say to Hi everyone.
My name is Martin and I live in Petersfield Hampshire
Picking up my 08 reg Passat Saloon on wednesday. Never owned one before, infact it's my first ever German car. It's an Ex demonstrator and is a completely standard SE Diesel 140bhp model, apart from Bi Xenon ...
