Re: TFSi running temp and MPG.
How long you had, how many miles done? If in doubt normally best to get checked, just putting happens with mine, but as said mine changes slightly but wasn't worried as had other 2 litre cars do same, not all did. Motorway & downhills can see slight drop in temperature, but it still within param...

Re: TFSi running temp and MPG.
I have a t-fsi estate. On motorway the temperature goes lower with the cold air, then if in traffic will rise again. But after more motorway will go down slightly again. Has done that on other cars I've had. Not sure if that the same thing you are saying, so sorry if wrong. I got to about 34-35 mpg ...

Passed Mot
This was my first mot in this car & passed first time. Only advisory was small window chip, which has the resin in. Never had car pass first time before, though I did spend loads when first got car & couple months back. A lot happier now, been worried about it for so long, now I can enjoy mo...

Re: Much Lower MPG in cold weather
My petrol been a bit lower. But helped with lower fuel prices at moment. Small trips the computer saying 21-25 mpg on short runs, using heating & heated seats. But still works out about 30mpg I think. £10 about 50 miles average. Up to 35 mpg longer run. Was 38-41 when warmer weather after the n...

Is the Garrett not as good as the k03 then?
Is the k04 a straight swap, from mine or lots work involved

Cheers, not herd of that name. In past kkk turbo in reference, but herd more about Garrett.
What turbos fit if like upgrade?
Something like t28 Garrett. As was looking at them for my rover before.
Just for better airflow, torque.

What size turbo 06 estate t-fsi
I've been looking around trying to find what turbo is used on my b6 estate. I assumed Garrett t25, as had on an old rover 820 vitesse, seems same figures, apart from more torque on this one.
But can't find any details, does anyone know please.

Re: just had my car re-mapped
I had remap as mine was near 150k on my petrol. It was for trying to restore any lost power & try improve fuel economy. I was getting 30mpg average on town/motorway, 34-35 more motorway. After chip, noticed the bit more power, even though used to it now. But had 41.1mpg on motorway run. Though i...

Re: lpg conversion
I've had experience with LPG and cant fault it. I have got an LPG kit to fit on to my B5 at some point. I have run a Honda Civic Aerodeck with LPG and I also converted an old Jeep Cherokee years ago using a more basic system. Not as scary as some people would have you think, although the modern sys...

Re: lpg conversion
I've just done some quick sums based on the prices of fuel local to me and assuming you get 35mpg on petrol and 26mpg on LPG. Over 7500 miles, you would save £575 on fuel, but it will have cost you £1500 to be able to run on LPG, meaning it will take nearly 3 years before you start to save any mo...

Re: lpg conversion
Where are you going to fit the LPG tank ? The small doughnut ones don't have that good a capacity and with the reduced mpg the cars do the range can be quite poor. You will also have to find somewhere to put the spare wheel. If you have an LPG stockist close to you or you drive past one regularly t...

Re: lpg conversion
I remember years ago when I worked at petrol stations & it first got installed on the forecourt. People didn't know how to use, I didn't want to get blown up. Was hopping someone more local, but can't see one under 10 miles yet. With one place with it connected to each cylinder, can take 5 days ...

I'm still looking into the different types before I call.
But on another car that had 14" steel rims, I upgraded to 15" alloys and they charged me £40 or £50 a year extra.

I've herd of a single point cheaper one & multipoint one with own ecu automatic change from the 2 when needed or by switch. Going bit over my head at moment. It between 10 & 20 miles. 25 miles would cost £5 on unleaded. But lpg about £2.50 in theory. Still researching, been bit busy. Do yo...

Re: Upgrading to 17 - 18 inch alloys from 16
Not sure how much lowering springs are or labor to fit, have to research first. Or put up with being bit higher. Not sure if will unsettle ride to much. Also if insurance wants an extra bite.
Good to know with brakes, thought 330 was biggest could get.
Good if get at reasonable price.

lpg conversion
Hi I've started research into this, wondered if anyone has had done, to work out if worth doing. Haven't found exact price for my b6 2006 t-fsi, but seems in region of £1500. I worked out in rough at average on unleaded 7500 miles equates to £1500. Lpg cost in rough theory £750 with the same mile...

Re: Upgrading to 17 - 18 inch alloys from 16
Do 18" fit straight on with enough clearance, not make look like on stilts or anything if there just 16" at moment. Put 17" on another car from 15" and looked like sat too high. But couldn't afford to have lowered. I haven't seen 345, thought may be too big on 17". Only foun...

Upgrading to 17 - 18 inch alloys from 16
Hi I was looking at getting new tyres for my b6 2006 estate t-fsi. They are 16" alloys standard. But I'm thinking of getting secondhand 17 or 18 inch alloy upgrade. Is there any problems with doing this, what would I need to know? Really like the 18" turbine like on the cc's for example. S...

Re: If I had the money
Everyone would have Poole money together & make our own. Or get heavily modified passat for it with off road suspension & tyres etc. Not sure would catch on though. But we do have 4x4 passat models to base it on.
