Re: Mk3 Toledo issue

No coolant loss whatsoever, I've been keeping a close eye and doesn't go a degree over 90 either.
Just had a look and coolant is clear but oil cap has slight bit of whiteness around it, maybe suggesting head?

Mk3 Toledo issue

Hi folks, After some advice regarding a mk3 toledo issue. It's a 2005 1.6 petrol. (Big ass model!). There's a fault showing on vcds lite, 16688 - cylinder 4 - misfire. There's also a bit of white smoke if you plant it in 1st or 2nd. Initially with the smoke I checked coolant for a leak but it's not ...

What wheels

Anyone know what these are called if they have a name, apparently off an A4. Trying to find some pics of them on a B5.5. Thinking vancouver or monte carlo? I'm assuming they were a standard vag wheel. I have sport wheels but like the look of these. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160609/ab8f9ee4c6...

If only! Haven't smelt it yet but will do, hope you're not making me look a fool as my neighbours watch me sniff my car! Isn't that bad just annoying on the drive. Door moulding options

Hi folks, Quick query regarding the black door mouldings on my estate. Both rear door mouldings are fine and sit flush tight to the door, however both front sit out and have obviously been off and put back on with thick double sided tape. I took them off tonight and got the part numbers. Not much on...

Re: rub strips can they be removed?

Didn't wanted to start a new thread so will post here. My passenger side front rub strip probably feel off on previous owner so it's on with some double sided tape which means it's not flush to the door. Just doesn't look right and was wondering if you can still buy them from VW cheap? Otherwise pro...

Re: Gearbox on way out?

Thanks for the comments folks and alync205 thanks for that info, something else to consider. I think I'll get it dropped off as I probably wouldn't diagnose it properly. Fingers crossed nothing too bad it was a cheap buy and spent a fair bit getting it tested! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Gearbox on way out?

Hi folks, I have a 03 Passat 130 sport, 6 speed box. There's a noise/grind when it's in most gears. It's whenever you're in gear and let the clutch fully out. It's not hard to get into gear, (well it's hard to get into 6th at times), and the noise isn't there with the clutch in or if it's out of gea...

Re: New Battery

Sorry to jump in but saves starting a new thread. Would anyone know off hand if this is a 096 or 110 battery? It's got Varta DE VA0 and 00 977 653 on it. Car has been dead for about a week between me jumping it etc. Not even trickle charge doing much. Alternator tested ok so thinking of whipping the...

Mine is a bit noisy/grindy too, 130 sport 6 speed 160k. MOT isn't an issue with it, got though last week. I'm probably going down the rebuild option

Re: Sonichi digital radio adapter thoughts?

I don't really like aftermarket stereos and if that unit was decent and could be hidden it may be good enough. Its not really significant cost considering with aerial etc factored in its still likely to be less than most dab stereos. If I'm after dab I know chances are I'll need a new stereo but I p...

Sonichi digital radio adapter thoughts?

Hi folks, I currently have the standard gamma and changer units in my B5.5 and was thinking of getting a dab radio? I know it'll need a new aerial too and was searching through some when I found this: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductMobileDisplay?catalogId=10151&langId=-...

Still haven't had it checked yet as it was in for some other work. Dropping it back on Wednesday so hopefully have it sussed. Got new shocks and springs in the front and forgot the sport sits lower, so I'm assuming the rear still has some original parts as it's now low at the back and high at the fr...
