As the title suggests, has anyone else had a letter from vw saying they need the solenoid replacing? My car has never had the emissions fix so I’m loathe to give it to vw in fear they’ll do that whilst it’s in for repair.

My car has exactly the same problem, have you got a warning lamp on? When the fault was diagnosed the guy who looks after my car enquiered about getting a new one and was told it would take three months to get one on back order!! It would seem it’s a common fault. Thanks for that, I'm assuming that the cam belt etc should also have been done at this sort of mileage as well? As far as the fix goes I will look into getting a re map of some sort to solve that issue, and delete the egr.

Hi all, as the title says I'm having some issues with my abs. I've scanned it and it's coming up with front left wheel speed sensor. I've changed it and still the light is on :cry: could it be the ring that's causing this, and if so can it be changed? Or could it be the abs modulator? Any advice app...

Try Youngs garage a vw specialist near you at gasoline alley at wrotham, google it and it should come up. Nick has probably forgotten more than I'll ever know concerning vw's, so give him a shout. Hope this helps.

Hi all, does anyone know what is happening with car tax on diesels? I know that all new cars are hit with a hefty price on first registration but is this going to continue over to older cars as well? There seems to be so much conflicting reading online I just thought I'd see if anyone could clear it...

I can't be sure it's the actual pump itself, having heard it's quite a common problem that was going to be my first port of call for the sake of a few quid on a new gasket.

Can this be done without disconnecting all the fuel lines? Could you for example just undo the pump, remove the old gasket and slide the new one in behind it?

Hi all, my traction control light is coming on intermittently. It seems to do it when I apply the brakes, do you think it could be the brake light switch as I've read that it could cause it? Also the abs sensors can cause it. What do you think should be first on the list? Cheers, Martin.

How low have you gone? I dropped mine 40mm and had no issues with mine. I have had that problem but it turned out to be the front sensor was shot.
