Re: Help, all my screenwash is now on the road!
Had something similar, but the screenwash pee'd out the bottom when the rear wash was activated. Turned out the pop on pipe connection had popped off. Not easy to see with the undertray on though. Sounds like what's happened to mine, did you manage to reconnect it easily, from underneath? or will I...

Re: Help, all my screenwash is now on the road!
Ah ha!
Just discovered, after noticing that the fluid leak was frothy/bubbly, that it only seems to leak when I operate the rear wash, that's great news as at least the fronts should keep working and I will only lose fluid when I use the rear wash, so I won't need to sort it as quick as I thought!

Help, all my screenwash is now on the road!
I tried to use my rear wash wipe last night but no water came out, I tried the fronts and they worked, then the empty screenwash light came on the dashboard. I then got out the car and saw all my screenwash on the road!
I assume a pipe has come off? Has anyone had this problem?

Could it be related to the hydraulics rather than the actual clutch?
Maybe there's a cheaper temporary fix, I hope somebody has a suggestion that could keep you going until you part exchange it!

I've been involved in developing a number of websites so can probably offer some advice, I'm a freelance Web Designer. Removing rear spring rubber isolators, before and after pics
Hi all, I asked about removing the rear rubber coil spring isolators from the rear suspension on my wagon as I wanted just an extra 10-15mm drop to level the car as I felt it had too much forward rake. I have only removed the lower isolators as I was slightly concerned about noise being transmitted ...

Re: Changing the leather gear stick gator
I did mine on my b5.5 with a new one from ebay, I wouldn't say it was easy though! When you lift up the plastic 'rim' and gator you'll see there is a metal crimped retaining ring which needs to be opened up with screwdriver/pliers, then the knob can be removed. I found getting the top part of the ne...

Re: Pollen Filter Confidential dealer documentation
I managed to apply silicone on the inside edge of the pollen filter housing using an applicator gun and my index finger! Although not as good as removing the housing and applying a good seal and then refitting the housing it is much quicker and could at least help if you need to get it sealed quickl...

Re: Tips to improveme to B5.5 handling required
Just using standard shocks, some people said it's a bad idea as they are likely to wear out quicker and others said it would be fine. As my car has 'only' done 65k miles and I was only going for a moderate drop I thought I'd risk it and so far everythings fine, I don't do much mileage in a year anyw...

Re: Tips to improveme to B5.5 handling required
So you'll lower it another 20-25mm if you fit 35-40mm springs. here are some before and after shots with standard and then eibach pro kit springs fitted, measured using a nokia 5800!, the car did drop a little more a couple of weeks later after all the rubber bushes settled. http://www.box.net/share...

Re: Tips to improveme to B5.5 handling required
I would also recommend lowering, the Eibach pro kit springs I have on my wagon made a big difference, they only lower your car 35-40mm so you won't have any issues with ground clearance ( see recent thread about speed humps ) The Eibachs also maintain the ride comfort and only stiffen up when neede...

Re: Is it safe to remove rear coil spring rubber mounts?
i already have Eibach springs fitted and they are pretty much perfect for my needs, they improve the handling, keep the ride comfort for long journeys and are so low that they cause problems with speed humps etc. However ideally I would like the car to sit approx 10-20mm lower at the rear as the car...

Re: Is it safe to remove rear coil spring rubber mounts?
Thanks for all the info chaps. 10-15mm sounds just about perfect and should make the car sit level. Think I'll take just the lowers out as I assumed there would be more possibilty of noise being transmitted to the car via the top mounting as the lower arm is isolated by rubber bushes anyway. Hopeful...

i took mine out...... and im typing this so its safe to say im not dead yet! :D when you jack it up though the spring sit very loose, so u have to be careful when letting it down so they sit right how much lower did the rear sit with them out? Re: Is it safe to remove rear coil spring rubber mounts?
I already have it lowered by 35-40mm with eibach springs, I can't go much lower for practical reasons but would just like the rear slightly lower as the front sits a bit lower at the moment. I was hoping to leave the centre part of the isolator to keep the springs located but just remove any rubber ...

Is it safe to remove rear coil spring rubber mounts?
After seeing my car lower when fully loaded I like how it looked, the trouble is I can't afford to change the springs and I can't lower it much more due to practical needs. It occurred to me that I could remove the rubber 'mats' or isolators from either top or bottom or even both, but does this crea...

Yeah it deffo looks like I need a new crash sensor, especially as I've just cut mine up to see what was inside! ( not much, a small circuit board with a few components on ) I called into my local VW dealer on the way home tonight and picked up a connecter plug to replace my dodgy looking one in a la...
