B6 air con takes a long time to kick in
Hi All, Been thinking my air con isn't right for some time now but today prompted me to post. SO, it was 28degrees outside. Car was roasting. I set off on my home from work and thought I'd set to climate control to 17 to really cool it down. The fans came on full speed, but it was pumping warm air o...

Re: Coming Home/Leaving Home
Sorted it Jaraz thank you, set it to 30 seconds
.
What would I gain from swapping the standard switch to an auto one (without a sensor). Anything?

side light rubber cap
Hi all,
Does anyone know where I can get the little rubber cap that covers the side light up.
I changed my side lights today and one side doesn't have the cap, and thats also the side that seems to fill up with condensation!

Re: Coming Home/Leaving Home
I sorted the leaving home on my B6 yesterday.
Simply ticked the 'Assistance Driving Light/Leaving Home Active' option.
Now when I unlocked the car, the lights are on for about 10 seconds.
Exactly what I wanted.
I've got a none auto light switch, and this works when it is set to Off.

What did you do exactly to get this to work without the auto switch?
Thanks.

Re: Coming Home/Leaving Home
Hi Jaraz,
I've completely lost track of what I'm doing with this.
Without the Auto Switch, can I do just the leaving home function? So the lights come on when I unlock the car, without me doing anything else, other than activating it in VCDS?

Re: Coming Home/Leaving Home
I had a look at doing this today. In my Central Electric Module I accessed the Long Code section. I ticked the 'Assistance Driving Light_Leaving Home Active' option and this changed 01 in Bit 00, to 21. I think its 21 instead of 20 because Front Front Lights are installed and this is ticked. I then ...

Re: Coming Home/Leaving Home
I would still like this actually so I'll give it a try later.
I would just like the lights on when I unlock the car. I don't want the daytime running lights.
I don't have an auto switch, just the standard one.
Do you have to do anything with the flash stalk?

Water in the car
Hi All, Over the last few weeks or so, I've noticed that the rear driver side seat is quite damp! I've felt down the inside of the door and that appears to be fine, just the seat really. The door seals look ok so I don't think its that. I have also more recently noticed that in the boot, there is a ...

Some a**e decided to hit me when I was parked and its cracked a bit chunk out of it.

Re: Engine Issue
Morning all,
I took it to a local engine specialist garage this morning and straight away was told it was the cam and buckets, and may as wlel do the cam belt and water pump whilst at it.
Around 1k's worth of work!
Does anyone have any thoughts on this, and the cost!

Re: Engine Issue
Oh!
What about the fact it isn't losing power?
I'm just trying my best to not think its what you've said haha, because i'm not going to spend that amount of money on it, I'll end up getting it scrapped.
Its going to an engine place in the morning so hopefully they'll shed some light

Re: Engine Issue
Cheers Phil.
It doesn't sound like a tappet sound to be honest.
And the strange thing is, it stopped doing it for 2 days, and then started again.
If it was big end of cylinder, would it be intermittent?

Hi Phil,
Thats just checking as well isn't it, not fixing. Just to confirm prob 150 quid?
If they then confirm, how much to fix would you guess?

Re: Engine Issue
Well, unfortunately, the issue is back. At lunch I'll get a video.
I'm not sure if its something I want to spend lots of getting fixed.
With that in mind, are there breakers on here who might be interested instead of it being scrapped.
I'll post a vid up shortly.

I think I'll make sure its well above minimum from now (should do anyway really - but I'll check it more often!).
What mileage has yours done?

Re: Engine Issue
Thanks for the reply.
Not loads, not sure why I put that. He basically topped it up, but I'll check tomorrow to what level it was.
Its the 1.9 and I'm pretty sure PD100, not 130.
Well from inside the car, when I was accellerating and reaching around 2500rpm, it sounded like the exhaust was blowing.

The bloke who checked it this morning when it was happened checked my oil and said it was just above minimum, and he ...
