Re: Amp wire routing B5.5

I took mine in through the bit where the heating pipes go through into the cabin, comes through above and behind the glove box.

You can also take them in through the ECU housing, but i found that was a harder route.

mostly been around the 320 miles per tank mark recently, but that's been shorter journeys and not the longer trips it used to do. Longer i get around 380

There's next to no room in the bay for mods, period. There was a twinturbo version that had the turbos under the back end although not sure how much extra power that made, other than the cool factor (dont think the guy who did it released power figures) The autos seem to suffer more than the manuals...

Re: How do I transfer music from Iphone4 to new laptop?

From what i remember, officially you can't apple designed it so that music is one way only (from pc to phone). Was a few years since i last had to sort something like that out though. I think in the end i had to copy off the hidden music folder from the device, then use an mp3 renamer to put all the...

Re: Low commuting kills turbos?

what you'll find is your miles per tank will take a hit. When i used my old pug for local only stuff, i was getting 100 miles less per tank than when i was doing 80 miles a day commute.

As has been said above, shouldn't do it any harm if you're taking it a run at the weekends.

Re: B5.5 gamma radio code

is it the original stereo that came with the car? Try turning the ignition on, turning the radio on and when it says SAFE press and hold the > (or < i don't think it matters) button for about 5 seconds or so. It should learn the code from the car, if it's the original unit.

Re: The range to empty game

From a W8 ? Amazing. I'm pretty sure the W8 has an 80 litre tank. Yeah, 80 litre tank. Was a trip from Llangollen to Porthmadog, welsh country roads with tourists on them so was a nice gentle drive. It had been reading 500 shortly before i took the pic, but at the time couldn't stop to take one. An...

Also i have petrols cos i tend to do under 8000 miles a year, a lot of that is short journeys and diesels hate that. When i used to do 80-100 miles a day, then i had a diesel :)

2.8 on the front, 2.6 on the rear, that's normally light load. Don't usually go higher than that as the car's never really fully laden.

Well i've owned one for the last 6 years, (74k to 110k) and yes it's suffered the usual passat problems, and it didn't help having a taxi get up close and personal with the front end (which has caused me no end of issues since) but i still love driving it, and it still puts a smile on my face when i...

IIRC i was told it is on the drive tunnel under the dash so probably best approached from the side or behind the climate control panel. I've had my radio/stuff out recently and it's not accessible through the DIN cage.

The unknown round connector looks like a Sony D bus connector - autochanger cable. To get the aerial to fit you'll need a plug in adapter, they're cheap enough to source (got my last one from hallfrauds)
