Re: B5 Alarm and Boot problems
SORTED!! plugged in the VAGCOM and no errors came up so decided to check out the boot lock to see what was going on. It was quite easy opening it up and it just so happened that the solenoid was not working. Opened the solenoid up and applied some WD40 and plugged it back in. WORKS. so am planning t...

B5 Alarm and Boot problems
Hi Guys, A couple of weeks back, I tried to open the boot and it wouldn't open. It was a routine that I follow every morning. All the doors were unlocked by pressing the 'unlock' button on the keyfob twice but the boot just wouldn't open. Due to the extreme cold conditions we've had here in Kent, I ...

Speedometer Bouncing up and down and then stuck on Zero!
Hi guys, I was on the motorway last night and using cruise control set at 75mph. After a while i could feel like the car speeding up and then slowing down intemittently. Found this unusual as I use cruise control a lot and have never had the problem before. After getting to my destination, car was p...

Re: wind noise
Doors and seals look ok. on the motorway drving at 70mph, there's no noise and even Engine noise is hard to hear. It's just on open roads when driving at 40-50mph and it's definitely wind noise(as if it's wind passing through the edges between the car and where the door shuts)
weird!

Re: FUEL COMSUMPTION-GOOD OR BAD?
don't know about the V6. Mine's a 1.9TDi PD and i get about 530 miles or so before the fuel warning comes up. I think i read somewhere in the manual that once the light comes on, we've got about 8 litres left in reserve. Most i've pushed it to is 575 miles to the full tank. The other thing i've obse...

Re: B4 TDI Tuning
For the 1.9 TDI PD
115bhp ---> 140bhp
230lbs/ft----->259lbs/ft
Is this the same improvement you'd get from a £20box?

TDI Diesel Chip Tuning
Anyone recommend getting their TDI's chipped for better performance and better MPG?
Is the difference noticeable?
What's the best place to get these chips and how do I know which one works and which doesn't. (I've seen some for £500 and some for £50 so not sure what the difference is)
Cheers

ASR Traction Control
Hi Guys,
Do most of you drive with the ASR on or off?
Does it make a big difference to your driving, cornering, etc?
and does it affect fuel efficiency in any way?

problem with right side indicator light
Hi guys,
Suddenly this morning, I realised that when i indicate right, the indicator was flashing real fast as compared to the left indicator. Not sure what the problem could be. was working fine all this time.washed the car yesterday so not sure that could have done something.
any ideas?

Re: how do I know what model my car is?
hey guys, just popped out to the car park at work and checked near the spare wheel for some codes and this is what i found.
Engine code: AJM
and it's got 85kw on the label as well.
plus lots of other numbers..paint code..etc.
So is it a PD? if so, is it a sport model?
