Re: 2006 B6 Estate - 3.2 V6 DSG 4motion SEL - time for an update

So it's been a while! I still have the B6 V6, it's just had a service & a few annoying thing sorted (I forgot to plug the 12v plug in the boot back in when I put the interior back together while fitting the inner rear lamps. The alarm has never worked, so new siren fitted & alarm chirp activ...

VW has it on back order - only other ones are for sale in the US (they want silly money for postage)

Anyone got any other suggestions............

Unusual rust issue???? (Dsg)

So my B6 V6 has just gone in for its 118k service, inspection & mot.... Oil, filter changed, brakes checked, brake fluid renewed.... But while it was up on the ramps - a damp section under the gearbox was noted. Right on the front face of the DSG sump/plate. It's gone porous & letting dsg fl...

Re: Leaking windscreen!!!

It's an estate with a rear mounted aerial. No sunroof.

The issue has been found. The glue/sealant around the screen has come unstuck.... (Screen out by body shop - small amount of surface rust taken care of (it's had a screen before)

Leaking windscreen!!!

Just back from a family holiday in the Passat.... But I keep finding wet patches at the top of the A-pillar trim.

I have no sunroof & the rest of the car is dry.... I'm pretty certain it's the windscreen that's leaking. Anyone else had this issue??

Re: 2006 B6 Estate - 3.2 V6 DSG 4motion SEL - time for an update

The car has now been consigned to being the 2nd car / family transport only. (Daily driver is now a Polo 9n TDi Sport) So I got stuck in refitting the front DRL's - gave it a wash and polish. And a great B-road blast or 2. Time for a service soon (oil change and brakes are a little spongy) Since res...

I checked absolutely everything on the car - also checked for a parasitic drain. but nothing was found.

new battery tomorrow - Found one the right size with a 5 year warranty with more power (100ah / 900cca) for under £100. Should be fine!

Re: Ok - so the beast refused to start today.....

It's a 3.2 V6 4motion... It's still got the 2006 stamp in the battery terminals & the battery is date stamped 10/2005. So I think it's the original battery. It's a Vatra 4F0 915105E unit. Looked through the service history - no battery replacement in the receipts or service book. The battery goe...

Ok - so the beast refused to start today.....

I've been using the mk2 this last few weeks, only going back to the Passat maybe once a week. Went to it on Friday morning, normally when I unlock it the headlights come one, but it failed to do this. Tried to start it, very slow turning of the starter - but eventually it kicked into life. On the da...

I've got some similar on my car built by Jaraz. Was just easier to follow the instructions & tap the headlight feed. You only need to do that if you want to dim your Drl's when the headlights are on

They are the whole exhaust - retained the factory CAT's then from there straight back to the rear boxes - quite throaty under acceleration. but mute at 70! I wasnt sure about the wrap. But i'm happy to give most things a go by myself. I was thinking about Porsche Sapphire Blue with black detailing (...

Ok so the car has sat for a few weeks while I enjoyed the last bit of good weather in my MK2 golf.... While it was at on the driveway I got stuck in with the rear lamps built by Jaraz.... Inner rears with twin rings using twin reverse units. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b58/mrdubstyle/image_zps...

Re: Newbie B6 3.2 4 motion help

Bought one about 14 months ago - love it. But it's thirsty, road tax is £500+ per year. Mine has been ok, but it's got more rust than I would expect from a 10 year old VW! Tailgate, inner rear arches, boot floor, front wings.... Plus if the Haldex or the DSG goes bye bye - the repair costs can basi...
