Re: Genesis Amps, Been Offered 2
i'd check the sort of prices they go on ebay for
if i remeber right the profile 5 is basically the 2 amps in one case so is also worth looking at

Re: Power Cap
a bass cube is just bass boost you should find an audiocontrol epicenter for real fun ;)
crossovers shoulr be around 20 subsonic and 60 - 80 low pass
if you don't get any luck upgrading the leads you need a battery or split charge system

Re: putting 6x9's in metal shelf
6x9's are n't very good sound quality they are just designed to go loud, it also ruins the sound staging as all the sound is coming from the rear of the car.
all you need is a decent set of components up front, amped and leave the standard rear speakers in to give some rear fill.

Re: Power Cap
they are no use at all in any setup unless you have an spl system in street class you wire one to your headunit to stop it cutting out from voltage drop

Re: i pod
nokia n85 you have to make sue you pick a frequency thats not close to any other transmitting frequency and as long as it's a good quality fm transmitter it'll work fine
Re: i pod
could use a decent quality fm modulator my phone has one built in and it's great but make sure to get a good one and tune it into a frequency that isn't close to any stations for a good clear reception

Re: bank holiday ice install
if you remove the glove box and pull the carpet back you should find a couple of unused gromits for the power lead as for the 3 mini iso plugs one is for a cd changer one for steering remote and not sure on the other if you can't find a blue remote lead you may have to use the switched live going in...

Re: Recommend me a sub and amp?!
the problem is i don't think you'll have 1cuft internal volume after displacements so a 10" sub would be the better choice but ideally you need a rough volume as an 8" may be better than the 10"

Re: impedance?
that amp would suit it alot better and the option of adding a second is still there as it should be 1 ohm stable
it'll still suck power just upgrade the alternator wiring (the big 3) and you should be ok passats have big alts compared to alot of cars anyway

Re: impedance?
just checked the amp specs ideally you should of gone for the Dual 2 ohm sub that would match the amp alot better you need to wire each coil to each channel thats about the best you can do really it'll only be seeing about 300 watts though if it was dual 2 ohm you could of wired it to show 600 which...

Re: impedance?
if you put a link wire in the empty holes you will be wired to 8 ohm not usually much use you should re wire it to 2 ohm but you need to check the amps specs and make sure it's 2 ohm stable and set the gains carefully so as not to kill the sub

Re: impedance?
it depends what impedance you want to run the amp at dual 2 ohm will wire to 1 or 4 ohm dual 4 ohm will wire to 2 or 8 ohm see what power the amp puts out at those impedances the 1507 is a power hungry amp you will need a good powersupply to run it and monitor the voltage to make sure it doesn't go ...
