If I remember correctly B5 and B5.5 motor packs are not interchangeable, they also carry the door control module. With the b5 motor plugged in, the osf did work, but no one touch, nor would the other windows operate. For the purposes of testing it helped, but couldn`t have used it. Got it all done ...

I was well overdue for some scrap yard foraging, so went and got a (tested) replacement along with some other bits n bobs. Had it plugged into the car and working fine, just got to put it all back together now

I haven't, but I've just plugged in a b5 door loom and it works, so the problem is in the door loom, can't use the 5 loom because it doesn't have the plugs for the fuel flap and boot pop. Let's hope one o the local breakers has a tidy door loom

So both motors work on the late b5 I plugged them into....

Hmm, reg is ok, switch is ok, motor is ok....

1st thing I`d do is drop the sump and check the oil pump pick up, well documented issue with 1.8t`s. If its just flashed the light, and not started making any bad noises, you should get away with it. If its clogged, clean it, fresh oil then run her up and see, maybe an oil pressure test to be certai...
