Re: Front suspension leg query?
It does not work like that, well not in my 2003 130pd sport , i bought 20mm arms and found i have 16mm arms but you can't just take the insert out as i tried it and the 20mm arm just floats about inside the socket. I think the hole size with the insert out is around 21-22mm. You will need a leg ...

Re: DOH
Update, got the second kit and all fitted, pinch bolt came out with a bit heat from a plumbers brazing torch also had to heat the track rod end to get that bolt out. The off side rear lower control arm bolt was nightmare but eventually managed to get it out by taking off the fuel line protection ...

Re: DOH
Did but before they replied i had already ordered the 16mm kit from them as i need the car back on the road, so will just have to sell the 20mm kit myself.calumvw wrote:Have you tried getting in touch with the seller, you might be able to exchange them for the correct size arms, certainly worth a try?

Re: DOH
Yeah the collar was stuck on the end of the ball joint, had to heat it to get it off. The 20mm definitely does not fit inside it.

Re: halfords flexible vinyl spray paint
It's designed to penetrate vinyl so maybe has something in it that will effect clear coat. You could have used plasti dip style paint that a lot of people use to colour their badges and that can be peeled off. Try a fine wet bit of wet and dry paper to see if it will come out.

Re: b5.5 1.9tdi questions
Thats what I thought, couldn't take it for a drive, as it was stuck at the back of a narrow forecourt. With about 20 cars in front of it. Checked all the carpets as I've got a saloon at the moment and had the water problem with that. It worries me that something has been hidden by either the garage ...

Timing Advanced
Just about to try the timing belt change on my avf 1.9tdi 96kw 2002 sport estate, and out of curiosity i bought a bluetooth obd2 and torque program from the android store, anyway the timing is showing as 63.5 degrees advanced. That can't be right can it, would the car still run, the belt was changed ...

Re: Plastic Undertray
I know you don't see the benefit of it directly but i doubt VW would take the time to design, have it built and installed if they thought they could get away without it, it's not as if they are known for the generocity. It is more likely a long term thing not something you would miss overnight. Just ...
