Recommend an auto electrician North Manchester

Ey up!

Anyone recommend a VW savvy auto electrician in the North Manchester area?

Few issues on my 2011 B7 TDi bluemotion wagon and the wifes 2003 Bug.

Cheers

Re: Moved onto a B7 from a B5.5, some DTC help please

Ey up,

Sorted out the first issue. Simply cleaned out the TPS of the carbon gunk buildup and cleared all the DTCs at the weekend. Plenty of yootoob videos.

Thus far, no MIL light has popped back up.

Will scan with vcds at weekend and see what else pops up.

Re: Moved onto a B7 from a B5.5, some DTC help please

Cheers guys, will do as recommended and much like the B5, B5.5 before, live with it a while and see.

* Used a licensed version of vcds and saved the DTCs, so will clear them and see what pops up.
* Battery regulator, will check.

Re: Apart from the usual water ingress places....

Ey up Craig,

Ahh yes, think I know what you're on about. Will have a look. Obviously drivers side, yes?

How did you block it off? Gather it will be evident when I take a look?

Re: Apart from the usual water ingress places....

Ey up Gaz. Yep, done all four doors with new butyl tape. Double checked by dusting talcum powder at bottom of doors and sills. No evidence of run marks, dry as a bone. FYI - Its just the drivers side, initially wet under the drivers feet and obviously ran to rear passenger footwell, behind driver. T...

Re: Apart from the usual water ingress places....

Cheers for reply. Did that as well. That is to say, whilst doing the ECU box, cleaned the bonnet grommet area and packed the butyl tape around the grommet, creating another 'skin'.

Apart from the usual water ingress places....

.....where else would it come in?

Bit of history, done the usual suspects (cabin filter/ECU/plenum holes) as per the how tos on here and water is still getting in. Think it may be coming from around the steering column, where it goes through the bulkhead.

Anyone?

Re: Water ingress...still! Done all the usual bits, however....

On doors, check door speakers for leaking, especially if OEM ones been replaced with aftermarket speakers. Had that issue some years ago myself. Especially leaked when car was parked on curved roads with lower sides. Took good while until I found where water comes in, because when parked on level, ...

Re: Water ingress...still! Done all the usual bits, however....

Ey up minimental, Cheers for reply. Thought that also. Did a bit of investigation before going other routes. Removed the wiper motor assembly. The bolt in the middle goes through the top of the bulkhead and is a hole through to inside. Butyl putty washer applied. Also, under the ECU box, the seam se...

Water ingress...still! Done all the usual bits, however....

....its not one of the usual suspects. Hi all, 2005 B%.% TDi estate Highline. Firstly, done the plenum unplugging when first got the car, the ECU gasket reseal, resealed the pollen filter (butyl tape) and all doors (window regulator perimeter seals) have either been resealed or in good order and do ...

Anyone got some 3SDM's 00.6 that can do me a favour?

Bought some second hand (the above) wheels. The bolts I got with them are the wrong ones ie they have radius'd seats and tapered is required, which I now have. But, they are too long. The threaded bit on the new bolts are 28mm, apparently the right length but they catch. Can someone please measure t...
