Agreed and that's why I welded an old 3/8 socket on the top and it cured all the issues.T2000 wrote:The one from EBay is the one I have, no issues like that tool you have, that is a poo design!

I'd be interested in the short shifter if you take it off and I get to keep my car too!! Does it only fit Passat/A6/Superb 5 speeds or does it work with MKIV golf platform 5 speeds too??

£200, her car has been looked at and has boot floor damage, it's value isn't much more than mine so I'd say both will be written off.howey wrote:whats your excess as you only pay your excess to repair YOUR vehicle

It's a hobby of mine too!! After years of Minolta, Fuji, and Sony cameras I eventually wised up and bought a Canon 5d MK 3. Awesome bit of kit and wish I hadn't spent so much money on inferior brands.

Re: Alarm going off all the time now
Look for coroded wires at the multi plug in the footrest area just up from the CCM and if you lock the car by pressing the interior lock button whilst the drivers door is shut it locks without the alarm meaning a good nights sleep will be had by all.

Karl I was at a roundabout so was the normal traffic space between us. I don't tailgate people and this is my first accident in 18 years of driving that's been my doing. Crashed car what to do?
Right had a small bump today when I rear ended a new driver who stopped at an empty roundabout before pulling off again and unfortunately as I was looking to see if the road was clear to proceed after her, I had not noticed she'd stopped. Slammed on the brakes but still hit her at 10mph or so. Only ...

Re: Cleaned the motor, also have a question
Hang on. What is this 170 talk? There's no such thing. The all red TDI badges were on very early 150PD Mk4 Golfs and 150PD Boras, so a previous owner has been shopping on ebay. Actually the only 150pd that was badged correctly was the Bora i.e 115 red i, 130 red di and 150 red tdi, some 115 and 130...

Amp wire routing B5.5
Any convenient places to run amp wire through the bulkhead?? It's 0 gauge so needs to be pretty big.
I need 0 gauge due to splitting it into a few large amps etc.

Re: New battery.
6.5 years from a battery is poo to be fair. Must be all that extra electronic poo in newer cars as my Passat is on its factory battery, my bora factory battery lasted 12 years, and the wife's Toledo battery has lasted 10.

I'm on the hunt for a reasonably priced ko4 motor now that I'll mate to a 1.8t 02M. I'll most like use a qpeng wiring adapter to save any faffing ab...

Re: Avf power distribution
If that is true then you have problems, big problems! I doubt there is a single car on the roads today that can do this, Possibly with NOS it might be possible, but you'd be changing transmission, clutch and engine mounts on a weekly basis! It's like being down the pub in here! I can spin the bora ...
