Re: VCDS Problem
Sounds like a typical issue with cheap chinese knock-off cables, they don't like to work if the car isn't playing nice. Small deviations in the signal will cause the cheaper cables to lose the "lock" and give communication errors. Or, you might have a broken controller on the CANBUS which ...

Depends on the ET. Very likely will fit without any issues. Appearances and ride quality are very subjective things, can't help you with those.

Re: Performance Clutch
I guess you could fabricate your own SMF with a lot more mass (inertia) which could help to protect the gearbox, but would also then hurt the acceleration a bit? No first hand experience but I have also heard horror stories of using high torque/low revs on these 4cyl engines and SMF's which have kil...

Re: Wiring Diagram - AVF, AWX 1.9 TDI
You would need to specify exactly what you need. The "wiring diagram" is divided into several small sections, one consisting the engine control unit, second about transmission control unit, third about the comfort module + door wirings etc etc.

How's the plastic quality feel on that new trim piece?
I've bought a few new plastic parts from VW recently, and they all feel horrible, cheap plasticky hollow glossy -feeling stuff, not like the older parts which felt like quality plastics and malluable.

Its actually quite good per gallon of fuel, especially as LPG is only 55p a liter . Not diesel economy but its livable. very low miles too 34,618. How's the power output with LPG? I have only limited experience with cheaper 4cyl cars which have been converted to run on gas, and they are usually alw...

Re: Slight coolant leak from top radiator hose?
If the o-ring is just nicked but not completely shattered, you could try to put some teflon tape underneath it (on top of the groove), then slide in the o-ring and then a few layers of tape on top of it.

Linguy Passat is not based on B5.5 european passat, it is actually built upon the Skoda Superb mk1, which did have full canbus functionality in it's last days.
The wiring diagrams which I showed are from the "Passat (Chinese) 2008" model.

Based on the part number, it's from a 2008 Polo Classic (Africa).

Re: 4Motion Springs
Weitec made +20mm spring spacers which you could install on both axels, but they would probably cost just as much as a set of new lowering springs (sorry but the link takes to a Finnish shop, couldn't find them on ebay) https://www.slamit.net/product/6668/st-suspension-20mm-korotuspalat-taakse-passa...

Re: which cam?
I'd bet my testies that the cams are from the exact same (chinese) source, the difference is that in the german listing you get all the nuts and bolts + the injector o-rings, which will rack up another 100 pounds to the tally if bought separately.

I would double-check the fitment before purchasing.

Re: Handling issue?
The front ARB from a RS6 C5 will be a direct fit. RS4 B5 most likely not. Nobody has found any loose joints / bushings in any of the recent MOT's? Tie rod ends ok as well, both the inner and outer? How's the wear pattern on the current tyres? Even all around, or more wear on one side than the other?...

How about the rear axle bushes? They are known to fail and can cause an unstable rear axle.

Re: Standard Headlamps hardly give light
You could run the standard bulbs at 14.5 volts or even higher, but the lifetime will dimish drastically. The bulbs are also a PITA on the B5.5 models to change, since you can't directly remove the headlamps like on the B5 models.

Re: New turbo & full arm kit time
I'm still on my Lemforder set, cost me roughly 500 euros in 2013 IIRC.
For the turbo, a popular upgrade would be the BV43, almost directly plug and play. A remap is of course needed for best operation, and it will move the torque band slightly higher.

Re: Standard Headlamps hardly give light
The problem is with the reflective inner lining inside the projector housings. It gets dirty and burned through the years. For that reason alone I would avoid buying any second hand headlamps, no matter how good they look on the outside. Your best bet is to buy a set of new aftermarket lamps and put...
