Re: gearbox oil

I have compared the part number I supplied and yours passatawx, and can see very little difference. I think your number has superseeded the one I used (was a while ago so pretty likely). Both are still available yet G052527A2 seems to be used for post 2013 cars, so being a 2014 I would go with G0525...

Re: gearbox oil

When I did mine in my CC I got it from TPS: G052171A2 Gear Oil 1L Qty 3 I think It needs just over 2 litres typically! So I ordered 3L the first time, and when I came to do it several years later, I ordered 2L and used some of what I had left from the first change. TIP: Make sure you can loosen the ...

Re: A question I shouldn't be asking...

My 2010 CC Has just hit 201k and my DMF has just started rattling, all original clutch/flywheel. It has been mapped since 95k and driven pretty hard since I have had it (86k). There is a lot of variables that may affect wear rates so hard to judge really. Servicing, driving style, engine/gearbox cod...

Re: ABS (and other) lights on dashboard

The new sensor arrived today, has now been fitted, and all fault lights have gone out. All stored codes have been cleared and no re-occurrence, so all is good! Lesson learned - even of you thing a pattern piece will be ok, it probably won't be, so buy genuine! Glad to hear it fella. I too have been...

Re: ABS (and other) lights on dashboard

Speaking from experience and the mileage on your car, unless it was changed recently I would put money on it being the rear wheel bearing. The hub is a sealed unit and the magnetic pickup ring is on the back of it. The problem is the inner wheel bearing wears and even though I couldn't entice any p...

Raising money and awareness for Ectopic Pregnancy Trust.

Hey guys, I am not sure if this is allowed on here (mods delete if it isn't) but I wanted to share my story and what we are doing. Even if I just raise awareness or anyone here wants to help a good cause, we would be so so grateful for any support. Hopefully this is the right section for this, I tho...

For anyone with a B6 onward (I am guessing) before splashing out on bulbs if you have access to VCDS there are some settings to check In Central Elect. module. https://i1267.photobucket.com/albums/jj550/vw_norm/HIDs/Byte19.jpg From the passat forum: Lights http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=...

No GPS fix is an easy solve with £4 amazon GPS magnetic antenna, unplug blue fakra connector and plug in new one, left mine magnetised to dashboard support frame in dash beside head unit and works fine there and invisible fix. It might be GPS issue stopping destination save but also likely the unit ...

Re: B7 2013 2.0 TDI Highline saloon advisory work advice please

From my experience at that mileage its equally as likely to be a rear hub/bearing issue and not the sensors, I expect even with new sensors it won't be the last you see of them dash lights!

Good job, never seen a hub that bad corrosion wise before! Was the new sensor genuine? if it was just a eurocarparts one or something then they just don't seem to work!

Re: Multiple warning lights

Ahh, the was hoping it wasn’t that - is it a pig of a job ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It might not be but with your mileage it is highly likely. Not the worst but could be easier. You have to remove wheel, brake caliper, caliper carrier (suspension arms in way of bolts a bit), disc and the...

Re: Multiple warning lights

Don't rush changing the sensor. The intermittent part is the giveaway. I would put money on it being the rear wheel bearing that is your issues, depending on vehicle mileage/history. I know this having done both my rear bearings on my B6 CC. No doubt wide 19s and lowered suspension speed up wear on ...

Hi there, just wondered if anyone can help me, do the rear lights on a Passat CC 2014 say, fit onto the 2011 Model by any chance? Any advice would be great thanx 2011 should be pre-facelift so short answer is no. However you could source complete rear lights from a 2014 model inners and outers, plu...

Great work as ever, thanks for all you do.
One thing I had noticed with the Ansolution theme, may affect other too but the breadcrumb that contains Board Index < ... < .... etc is now not working.
It just has Board index and the arrows but misses the other crubs/section links.

I have read that this seems to be a common issue but every post I've read seems to affect DSG equipped cars only. Mine is a manual (B7 2.0 tdi 140) but the issue sounds exactly the same. That's what mine is but I assume yours is very similar. Pretty sure they use the same type of hinges not sure on wiring routing though

Re: New B7 Owner. Alarm/Hazards Question

Thanks for your reply. I’m not too bothered about the lack of alarm, I’ve taken the secondary batteries out of a Corsa I had years ago as it used to go off randomly. Regarding the boot wiring, is there an easy way to see if what you’ve said is the issue? I’ve heard the switches themselves can be te...

Re: New B7 Owner. Alarm/Hazards Question

Hi, I suspect this may be down to broken wires in the loom that runs along (I think) the passenger side boot hinge area. The cables move with the hinge and flex, I am not certain there is enough length in the cables from factory but age also will lead to brittle-ness. Once the outer insulation fails...

If it is a DSG there is a 2nd thermostat near the transmission somewhere that often fails, worth looking into if it is a DSG.
