Re: Drivers side window

Hi Kartman. The wires look ok and i was wondering if it could be the control module on the window regulator. Does anyone know if they are just plug and play or do they need to be coded to work. Cheers I guess it is possible it has failed, I think they have to be coded to the car but I am sure someo...

Re: Drivers side window

How about the connectors between the door shut and door edge, common to break wires and get water ingress, maybe stopping power getting to the motor?

Re: ABS Speed sensor Hub whell bearing

The ABS 03841 probably relates to rear left sensor, my guess would be thats the hub with issues, jack up that corner and see if there is play in the bearing, worth checking sensor too, not sure the details your reader gives but you would get more from VCDS as below: 03841 - RPM Sensor Rear Left: Inc...

Re: ABS Speed sensor Hub whell bearing

Likely to be the wheel bearing in the hub that has play in it although mine did well over 100k before it went so 45k seems low mileage for it to happen. The pickup is built into the back of the hub and with weight on the car the slight play in the bearing makes the hub wobble and the 'air gap' go ou...

Re: Driveshafts - Drivers Side vs Passenger side

Good advice form maclee but it does depend if it is inner or outer you need to change. I have just done an inner on my CC. Seems these passats are hard on inners too, probably doesn't help that mine is lowered and mapped with a good chunk more torque, i think my outers are still original at 164K mil...

Re: B6 (CC) front end vibration, clunk/pop

The Meyle joint sent was entirely the wrong one so went with an SKF one from Amazon. Prime got it to me too late on Saturday and beers and BBQ were calling so cracked on Sunday morning. Had it done before lunch, slowed down by an annoying track rod end nut not wanting to come undone and lack of circ...

Re: Driveshafts - Drivers Side vs Passenger side

They are definitely substantially different in length so you won't be able to use the one from the drivers side on the passenger side. So it will be a shaft off and replace joint on the passenger side job i'm afraid. There are several different joints used on the B6 as maclee states so it is a matte...

I can recommend the below:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B015QTPXVA

I use it in the back of my CC.
A small faff getting dogs in and out but the side bits are worth it for the protection of door cards etc

Re: ABS pump location

If its like my CC its at the back almost underneath the battery you should be able to see an ali block with several pipes coming out of it, I think the abs ecu is part of the valve block so if you removed it you would not be able to drive the car as the pipes would be disconnected therefore no brake...

Re: vw cc rear abs sensor

As above likely to be the wheel bearing in the hub that has play in it. The pickup is built into the back of the hub and with weight on the car the slight play in the bearing makes the hub wobble and the 'air gap' go out of range hence the intermittent code. Worth checking the sensor as mentioned ab...

Sorry i've been getting married and off on my honeymoon. A quick spin with my master tech mate and we're pretty certain it's the inner CV. Will get underneath properly this weekend and find which one it is so I can get it ordered

B6 (CC) front end vibration, clunk/pop

Hi everyone, something is amiss on my CC front nearside that I cannot pinpoint and wondered if others had experienced similar (same as b6 front strut etc i believe). It started as a mild vibration when cornering right at speed. This has recently got worse and the vibration is quite bad, it is almost...

I cannot confirm how accurate the smell is to its name but it is a nice air freshener, spray into the carpets and lasts a good while, really like their purple stuff grape soda smelling one :-bd

Re: ABS Fault

The hub you linked looks correct but the part number I fitted had a B on the end instead of the one you linked has an A. I suspect its a superseded part from VW and the link would fit fine. I have no experience with that brand however and for important parts I always like to fit genuine but could be...

Re: ABS Fault

Could be the sensor but from your description I reckon its the wheel bearing. This has to be fitted as a complete rear hub as the magnetic abs pickup ring lives in the back of it somehow and is a sealed unit. I suspect the inner bearing in the hub has play (unsure of car mileage) which needs replaci...

Re: Rear wheel bearings

I am afraid you will have to fit a complete hub and bearing unit probably cheaper from TPS rather than VW, definitely recommend a genuine one, I think I paid around £80. It is a sealed unit and the abs pickup ring is somehow built into the back part of it (no visible ring, the back is kind of rubber...

Cheers Kartman. That’s a good recommendation. What would I expect to pay for something like that from them?
From memory it was something like £369 but it's worth giving Alistair a ring as they sometimes have deals on etc

Re: Passat cc boot issues

I feel you have replaced both the catch and lock for no reason. It will almost certainly be the wiring has fractured where it leaves/enters the boot hinge tube. This can be got at by removing the left side carpet in the boot compartment. The wiring is held to this by a funny black plastic bracket. T...

hi, jist an update on what i previously posted, cars been in today, they changed the right hand side rear sensor so now all is good.
