Re: Da polishers

I can highly recommend Scholl polishes using either scholl's own pads of Chemical guys hex logic pads. It is hard to tell from the pics without a proper light source as to what correction has been achieved but there is so much to learn if you wish to get the best results. Detailing World is a wealth...

Re: Lowering dcc

They are really cheap. Surprised at that. Do you find out affects the comfort/ride? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk Yer I was too but had no problems with them and had them on well over a year. The ride is slightly harder but I'm used to driving very low and stiff cars. On normal DCC Mode it ri...

Re: Lowering dcc

The DCC is not affected when lowering springs are fitted to the original shocks. I know this as that is exactly what I have done. All the DCC does is affect the shock stiffness depending on the setting. I have a feeling the lowering springs may accelerate wear on the DCC shocks but I am ok with that...

Re: Plastice Reg Plate Surround Removal

Perfect thanks very much. Mine is a CC also so should be a simple job. I like the pressed plate on German cars, I was thinking of getting a shortened plate as I have a private reg and there is a lot of empty space on a standard size. Yes nice and simple. I always put pressed plates on all my cars, ...

Re: Plastice Reg Plate Surround Removal

Thanks, is it a simple job to remove it? From looking on other cars it would appear you often need to drill through the screws which worries me  It looks like you still have a plate recess on the bumper or are my eyes playing tricks? Yes pretty easy, I don't know if a the passat is different f...

Re: Plastice Reg Plate Surround Removal

On my CC I removed it. The holes can be hidden if you stick the plate directly to the bumper in the same place. You may have marks on the bumper where the edge of the surround has been rubbing but that should polish out ok. When I had my bumper painted I also got the holes filled in, however the pla...

Re: What did you do to your Passat today?

Gave it its normal weekly wash and got my 3 new contisports fitted. Other is only a month or so old after a hole in sidewall. Filled it full of mk2 golf parts. Emptied it and drove to work making full use of the extra grip. Wow they're good tyres and it is properly planted and stable now for a big o...

Good pics. I was so cheesed off after the queueing getting in that I didn't bother taking any myself. Loving the silver CC outside on air lift and the merc cls 55 amg is boss and is Lee's off here, who used to have an awesome CC before it.

Re: 2.0l TDi 170 - engine retard downhill under acceleration

My CC with the same engine does this! It seems to be some built in hill speed regulator system that seems pretty un-documented.
I find that if I come of the throttle and then back on it gives up trying and I can fly down the hill!

Re: water repellent what do people use

Recommendation for AngelWax H2GO from me. Cheap and last much longer than Rain-x despite smelling similar.
Easy to apply and uses very little, use two coats with 15 mins in between for best results.
I do plenty of miles on rubbish back roads, plenty of mud and spray and it works for a good while :)

Re: Rear Demister - woeful

The demister will do very little to burn off moisture on the outside. Get a good glass sealant on the rear window and water will no longer sit on it. I find if I give a good dam of the brakes reversing of my drive (slightly downhill) then most just runs off, if not by the time i'm out of the village...

Been onto Ross-Tech and they say that option for changing "marketing regions" was removed in the BCM. You can have fogs as DRLs though I thought I'd seen something in Byte18 but I've never been asked to enable Indicators as DRLs on a CC. The only other option is to see whether you get any...

I have a DAS-6 Pro machine polisher with various different compounds, polishes and pads. Also a safe wash technique so things don't get swirled up in the first place.

Thats the issue I can't find anywhere to select Scandinavian or North American settings. Is this likely to be in the same module or in some other adaption etc?
