Estate Rear boot lock
Since I bought the car the rear courtesy light in the boot has not come on. I read on another thread that this could be connected to the sensor in the boot lock. So this weekend I took the cover off. Found out why the washer wasn't working, the hose had become disconnected!! Also I thought I had fou...

Re: NEW FRONT PAGE 2008 !!!
I think you may have fallen into the trap that others have. If you saved the original site address (URL) to your favourites it set it up as http://www.ukpassats.co.uk/phpbb/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. This takes you straight to the forum board and bypasses the new UKPa...

Re: NEW FRONT PAGE 2008 !!!
The new front end to the site is now live. If any of you bookmarked the forum in your browser, you will have to remove the bookmark and add the new one as they differ slightly (old one was http://www.ukpassats.co.uk/phpbb/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and new one is just ...

Re: sparky001 (my father in law)
Bobman, where did he get the mudflaps as I have been looking for some of those.
At this time of the year I need them as Somerset farmers seem to think it is fun to spread mud all over the roads and the lower half of the car gets in a mess fairly quickly !!

Re: problem with right side indicator light
Maybe it is a bulb on the way out. I had a brake light that said it had failed, but was OK when I checked, the it was Ok for a day or two and then it did it again. This went on for two weeks and then it failed completely !!

Indicators flashing fast one side usually means a bulb has failed on that side.

Re: whats the matter with this chuffin' PC?
Probably Rob. The worst part was all the poo they put in the Windows registry, plus the additional Services they started up. AoHell was quite capable of turning a reasonably quick PC into an absolute dog's dinner of a PC.
We used to have to do line by line registry searches to get AoHell off a PC!!

Ed Don't worry about the items using the large memory amounts that is just Windows !!! Its the CPU, and yes you are correct something that is using consistently 10% and above needs investigating. Just watch the "flickering" amounts, ignoring System Idle Process and anything to do with your...

Re: whats the matter with this chuffin' PC?
It is your download speed that is your problem not the upload. If you are only getting measured 408kbps then it would suggest that either you are now in contention (AOL runs 60:1 contention i.e. your bandwidth is being shared with up to 60 other users) with a heavy user (they maybe using a bit torre...

2003 130 TDI Sport 6 speed on standard 16" alloys. I get 43-48 on a stop start town type drive and 52-56 on a motorway type cruise if I keep it to 70-75mph. As it happens this morning my trip was reading 440 miles (always reset it when I fill the tank) and the guage was just under half full, wi...

Re: Rear Bumper inserts on B5.5 Estate
Lee / Rich, I tried getting the damaged one off tonight and managed to get the flat blade of screw driver in behind and lever it out, but it did not seem to want to come off. Didn't want to use too much force in case I broke something. Is a case of getting a gap and levering it out gradually, or bru...

Thanks Rich. They are not colour coded so it looks easiest to get replacements. Excuse the ignorance but who is ECP?
I presume that you have to be careful unclipping them not to score the paintwork with the screwdriver !!![Happy :)](./images/smilies/1.gif)

Re: How the frig do you...???
I found that getting the wiper arms off was the hardest job. It was like they were welded on. Finally got them off using an old valve spring compressor I had from the days of doing valve reseats on Spitfires / Minis etc. Came across this the other day http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?productID...

You have got that right madrob.
Anyway they probably couldn't make a decision to hold an election, so it will just happen when it's due and his time runs out.
What pi**es me off is all the money they will waste until we get there, and their attitude to us the taxpayers. They couldn't give a to$$!!
