Re: Rear bearing fused/rusted !
Rear bearing was bit noisy so I decided I'd change it. Found out it's completely rusted / fused to the bolts hub. It just looks like a mass of rust. Where the hell do I even start trying to get it off ? Not even sure the hex bolts have any "hex" on them ! they just look like rusted pegs !...

Removing interior door handle covers?
When I removed the door handle cover on my passenger door a while back I had trouble getting it off without damaging it. That was following the destructions in the Haynes manual. Is there an easy way to do it? To be more precise it's the cover on the right of the picture that I'm trying to get off. ...

... Usually it's carbon built-up inside turbine, which won't let vanes to move freely, nothing you can do from outside. Another thing to remember: we are talking about exhaust manifold, which heats up to very high temperatures, most of greases or oils will just burn off in short time. So really to ...

Re: Retrofit heated washer jets?
Before you do anything else, perform a resistance check on the heaters of each of the heated nozzles. If one, or both are open circuit, the first question will be 'do I want to spend that much on a new nozzle(s)?' This might save you a lot of otherwise fruitless work. ... Top tip there. I suppose I...

Re: Retrofit heated washer jets?
Right. Partly answered my own questions. The wiring must route somewhere in the engine compartment as there is no space in the wing grommet (where the hose goes into the wing) for any wiring. [I say "must" as the grommet where the hose exits the bonnet (old one - 2001 bonnet - just a hose ...

Retrofit heated washer jets?
Just got a new (well, old ...) bonnet to replace the damaged one on mine and it came with heated washer jets whereas mine didn't. The car is a Nov. 01 reg. (so 2002 model year TDi PD130 estate) and the new bonnet came of an 04 reg. Highline. I have the bonnet with jets attached and the water hose/el...

Aha, hidden! unfortunately my engine cover is missing that little dome shaped bit that covers the Egr. No matter. If I got some mirors with the built-in indicators, can the glass be swapped with the non-indicator version or is the glass a different size and/or shape between the two?

Door panel sealant strip size?
My door panels need resealing and not being a fan of just 'squirting some silicon sealant' on them I was going to get some butyl strip to do it properly. However, I wasn't too sure about what strip width etc to get. I guess it doesn't make too much difference but is this Ebay item more or less right...

I had a slow water leak from this corner but it turned out to be the rad. Just old. New one sorted it - not expensive either. Thing is there was no obvious hole, just a general 'dampness'. YMMV.

Yep, get the tracking done asap. So, you need to free off the TREs. It wasn't Kwikfit was it? I had them tell me this a while back and said they'd have to use heat, which would destroy the TRE thus have to get a new one (rubber bush inside the TRE). Hmmm. Took it to my local place and they freed the...
