Is Used injector coding required?
Hi guys, I have an A6 3.0 tdi, 2005. Done a basic test on injectors (Yes I know they are poo, Bosch piezo type) and found 1 out of tollerance, which is causing a few problems for me. Has anybody replaced a faulty injector with an used one or know if you have to code the replacement injector? New one...

Re: radio reception has gone rubbish
I replaced my aeriel with an amplified replacement and the reception was just the same, as I was playing with the cable I noticed the signal instantly improved. Traced the fault to the joint/plug from the aeriel to the main cable, the earth or the inner metalic cylindrical piece was loose or not mak...

Cheers

AVF EGR delete?
I'm considering deleting the EGR valve on my car. I've already removed the vacume hose off the valve and have already noticed a difference (including the judder at idle) If I fit a blanking plate can I reconnect the vacume hose? and will the anti shudder valve work?

Re: Are these brakes any good for a budget
Bought these for my car, thinking they will do for now!!
Absolute load of poo, poor pedal feel and have to use excessive pressure in an emergency. Swapped the pads for some pagid ones from euro car parts, WOW! what a difference. Buy cheap, buy twice

Had same problem with mine, decided to remove the boot switch/pad and found that the handle was rusted in the on possition. Stripped, cleaned and greased, now workes a treat.

Re: clunk on brakes
I also had a clunk on my drivers side brakes. Sounded like the pads were moving and causing a clunk. Removed the wheel and found play on the caliper/ carrier. Ordered the 'pad spring clip' from Euro car parts, fitted today and done the trick.

I have the 130 tdi, mine was exactly the same. My boost starts at approx 13-1400 rpm. Sounds like the VNT is sticking. You need to do the Mr Muscle oven cleaner trick. Worked brilliantly for me

No boost when cold on tdi avf
Passat tdi 130 avf Hi all Bit of a strange one this time. This is the second time its happened where it starts fine from cold, as I move off it feels as there is no boost. I turn the ignition off then back on and is fine. Has no faults stored, nothing on dash, the car runs brilliantly otherwise with...

Re: Mr Muscle
The idea of moving the wastegate rod is to free off the mechanism inside the turbo, as the mechanism carbons up it restrics movement, thus preventing variable turbo management, it works with by adjusting the pitch of the blades that the exhaust gases hit to enable the turbo to start spinning so mini...

I've got a 2003 passat 130 tdi estate AVF with 140k on the clock, serviced throughout its life by the previous owner. I've had the car a few months, changed all filters etc, but felt that it was a little laggy with the turbo. Seeing videos on Youtube and comments on here refering to the foaming Mr M...

Re: Keeping our Passats running smooth..
I used to work for a main VW/Audi dealership and had a customer frequently visit us for service/repairs as he did a large mileage with his work. He was obsessed with finding the cheapest fuel on his trips to the extent of keeping a little book with all the prices. He decided that the tesco fuels wer...

Re: Fuel economy 1.8 20vT
calumvw was right. Cheap, crappy, fake, inferior MAF sensors sold on ebay. My MAF must have be worn or ending the end of its life, replaced with what I thought was a bargain off ebay. As Calum had suggested to me some time ago that they would fail, only noticed on hot starts, the idle was poor and n...

Suction jet pump works off the vacuum of the inlet manifold and as you said works via a venturi. It might be clogged you could try cleaning it. The pancake valve works by vacuum as well, you should be able to blow through any side as theres no vacuum on it till the cars running. Have now stripped al...
