Re: URGENT!!! Issues after cambelt change?

Glad you’re getting sorted fella.

If it persists, maybe I can persuade the Mrs into a France trip in the Jeep next year and cast my eyes over it for you haha.

If you remember the codes it flagged, do put them up. If it’s going into limp mode there will be a code!

Re: Thudding/knocking noise drivers side front wheel, B5 Passat TDI?

If it was fitted badly, it could fail again. They can be easy to damage the seals on which would lead to premature failure.

I’ve had rear Audi B5 Quattro bearings fail again after 3 months.

Without seeing it it’s hard to say unfortunately

So,

Decided my next retrofit is going to be Headlight washing and Automatic headlight levelling. Along with heated washer jets.

Have 90% of the parts. Just need to order a right side washer and the harnesses up. [emoji106]

I’ve fitted my “New” washer bumper which is in much better condition ...

Well,

My trusty Sony Headunit of 10 years finally started playing up again when the weather turned.

So I’ve now fitted an Android 14 CarPlay XTrons Unit.

Had to order a specific bezel for it and spend 5mins making it fit.

But like the overall result. Almost the same as the one I have in my ...

Hi . First time posting. Been checking this site over the years for some great info.

They’re usually one of the simplest to fill in my experience.

I usually lift the tank up as high as I can while I open the bleed hole on the core outlet hose, that’s about it. Then just run up to temp.

Re: URGENT!!! Issues after cambelt change?

No problem fella. I know the busy feeling.

Yes, it must be set with VCDS. It can cause all sorts of issues if the timing is out.

If you have VCDS and get the car back, I can talk you through checking it at home if need be.

Adjusting is easy enough but you need a 13mm spanner and a 13mm deep ...

URGENT!!! Issues after cambelt change?

The AFN requires the fuel pump setting dynamically with VCDS. If this isn’t done, fuelling can be severely off, even 1deg can make a huge difference to power and fuel economy.

Unfortunately, it’s a hard one to pinpoint without the car in front of me.

If you have VCDS, I can talk you through ...

Lovely car mate. I've been after a set of Phoenix wheels for ages for my own. Nicest OE wheel on a B5.5. Have found a set but the guy won't courier them.

Don’t think the centre cap badges are gonna stay properly stuck but we’ll see. The edges are a ballache.

For belts and tensioners, I’ll only ever advocate INA Brand parts.

For Aircon parts, I use NRF on both mine and customer cars.

If you get a compressor, you’ll also need to replace the drier in the system, and I’d advise replacing the expansion valve which is located under the battery (There’s a ...
