Re: Bird Poop Marks Removal

After you use this compound, use Polish and then wax after to seal it, other wise after a few washes and Uv exposure the scratch will come through a bit so it's always good to seal the surface after using compound :)

Re: Sport vs SEL

A lot of the sport models that I have come across before have varying levels of trim, some leather some not etc, so in that respect you will have to look further around the sport models for your desired goodies :) Sel will come with most if not all optional extras as standard but do have alcantara o...

Re: Found rust on 59 Highline Passat...

just keep going with it mate, it's unacceptable to find rust even on something 10 years old! Also like I said 'which' help quite a few cases and will take the fight to Vw, they have some good reads online of issues with rust and what Vw said to the clients. Rust on the edge of the bonnet is no diffe...

Re: Found rust on 59 Highline Passat...

Germans manufactureres over here have the worst customer service! Luckily I had both front wings replaced by Vw, they said they wernt covered but because it was so common on golf's, the covered 100% of the cost, so check other models for the same problems!

Re: Found rust on 59 Highline Passat...

Rusting from under the paint IS covered by warranty!! That's absolutely rediculous, have it looked at by an independent company like Which, they deal with claims like this and always get a result! Rust on a 6 year old car is unacceptable!!!! Take as much evidence as possible from Internet and this f...

Re: MY B6...BOOT LID CHANGE !

ah yes the second trim should come out aswell, but easier to try pry it out at the face which is closer to you, opposite the drawer. There are five clips spaced evenly around the trim, but yeah try using the pry tool at the semi circle bit !
the ashtray then should come out :)

Re: MY B6...BOOT LID CHANGE !

Do you have standard silver trim or is it a DSG gearbox ? the best thing to use is a trim removal tool or even a spoon, and pry it up , the front face of the gear trim closest to the ashtray :)

Re: Buying a 2.0 tdi. Are they really that bad?

The 1.9 BXE engines 2007-2008 had problems with conrods firing through the engine block, even though this is still very unlikely to happen based on the amount of bxe engines that go on to 200,000 miles + , it is a worry and i still can't believe VW will cover nothing towards this even with hard evid...

Re: Engine 'stuttering'.

Prominent stuttering when pulling away up the rev range is also linked to the coil packs and temperature sensor but these are less common compared to the MAF sensor. When you unplug the MAF the Ecu will just resort to a fixed set of parameters for the engine components to run to compensate for the M...

Re: Fake exhausts

About 80% of cars on the road that have the large exhaust trims will have just a smaller tip inside it, it's only when you get up to the 3.0 litres or 4.0 that that trim actually becomes an exhaust tip, but I definitely agree it looks naff!!! Stick with dual or quad exhausts in my opinion ;)
