Same with my 13 plate 140 Sport estate (out of warrantee of course), only at 31,000 miles. Water pump replacement fixed the leak.

The other point with the Sport is that the standard model does not include parking sensors. This was a deal breaker for me, although it turned out the the majority of the ex-VW Sport models had factory fitted sensors.
I do enjoy my Passat, and I only need to fill the tank once per month now ...

I've got a 2.0 140 Sport Estate (purchased off VW at six months old), the first year tax was £30 (which the dealer was 'kind' enough to throw in the deal). I also test drove the 1.6 Sport, but coming from a 2.0L petrol found I had to drive the 1.6 too hard for my comfort.

There doesn't appear to be a boot light *in* the boot of the Sport estate, only the interior rear roof light. This makes the boot very dark when the luggage compartment cover is in place (my old Accord Tourer had a boot light just below the luggage compartment cover).
