Changing ecu b5
Hello I have a1.8turbo 1999 b5 and I have just brought a car for spares and I have just found out it is remapped. Is it just a case of swooping the ecu form spare car on to mine,I am not sure thanks in advance.

Well it's been a long while since updated this thread. I ended up taking the coilovers off and my wheels due to a pothole which buckled my n/s front wheel, they were replica wheels. yeah I think white is a nice colour, got the headlights to polish they have gone yellow also new front indicators and wing repeater's then a good polish and when funds allow a remap but that will be next year now cheers.

today I got round to having a look at the boot lock one wire on the microswitch was croded so I soldered a new wire on I also found out where the water leak was it was coming from boot lock so I took it all off and resealed it with silicone no leaks now mint \m/ http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums ...

It was easy get a mate to pump the pedal and 2 litres of brake fluid and yeah the brake pedal was spongy before but now they are razor sharp its well worth doing it only took me about an hour cheers.

Hello I had the same problem with mine water was getting in through the boot handle and the water had got in to the microswitch and the one wire was broken. I took the the latch out resoldered the wire and cleaned it all up and it works ok now hope this helps.

I have just changed plugs oil filter oil air filter pollen filter and had the cambelt changed. the outside of the belt was very shiny but the inside between the teeth was slightly cracked. the car had fsh but no evidence of the belt being changed, I would have changed it anyway just for piece of ...
