Thanks for taking the time of searching, sadly we will all have to make our own once ours gets damaged. As you saw ebay is flooded with 3B1 versions

Re: Bonnet latch not locking bonnet down

I did buy one, The LHD version runs the other way in the engine bay, so enters the latch from the other side.

Similarly to many retro vehicles, once the original cables rusts even more I'll have to revert to a push bike brake cable with a bolt down nipple.

Re: Bonnet latch not locking bonnet down

Ok, so it was a cable fault, but the cable itself is NLA so I had to make do. The issue was the plastic cover has damage in a few areas, so the metal outer cable had rusted up creating a little extra length, taking away enough travel so the latch wasn't able to close properly. We carefully cut the e...

if its old I'd not worry but yes they are low readings. I always look at a running voltage as as sign of a healthy battery. If its around 14v its healthy, any lower then a cell is drying up

Re: Bonnet latch not locking bonnet down

Yeah, I need to check its ok. Maybe I should fit a new one anyway, it looks fine, apart from some rust on the end. It has always felt fine, I'll certainly double check it Thanks for the reply :ymapplause: I have not encountered this problem myself, but I just wonder if perhaps there is a problem wit...

Re: Bonnet latch not locking bonnet down

So bought a brand new latch which arrived today, really annoyingly it also doesn't latch the bonnet down! Shame it is so dead on here these days. Sad that the forums went over to Facebook pages imo as the quality of advice on here was really good. On my Facebook post I got people liking the photo, a...

Bonnet latch not locking bonnet down

Hello all, not been around much, Passat has mainly been off the road. But back in use in the snow as the 4motion is awesome in the winter time! Ive been aware that the bonnet latch for a while is a bit odd. I was dropping the bonnet to close and it would always need a push down to lock it. Sometimes...

Remapping 4motion in 2wd?

Hello all. I've had my passat in stage 2 condition for quite a while without being able to get it anywhere for a remap. As everything has reopened I was wondering if I can disengage the rear tranny and remap in 2wd? Just there are local places who can offer the remap but they don't have a 4wd dyno. ...

Re: Stainless steel exhaust

main question on price is what diameter. Yes a backbox makes a difference price wise but not as much as making in 2.25 to 2.5in tubing. Seems like a decent price to me. Stainless welding work is an expensive art.

Re: wiring instructions for rs6 Recaro leather seats

Still on the look out for any tips on fitting the rear bench? I've been told there are mods I can make to fit them, or send the existing rear bench to be recovered with the RS6 covers? Any further details?

TIA

I'd not bother bodging with sealant. Ebay is fully loaded with spare vac pumps at decent enough prices. Just be sure to use a decent new gasket or it will leak!

Re: Fuel filter OEM number?

or position the new filter, reconnect the in and outlet pipes, but leave the regulator hovering over its hole. Then prime the in tank pump a few times on the key and it will fill the filter. You will see the level is right by watching for fuel around the regulator. Much cleaner than messing around w...
